CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: ECHOES OF ETTA II FEATURING WILLIAM BLAKE
The Broadway at Birdland concert series presents the return to BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) of William Blake in Echoes of Etta II, on Monday, October 28th at 7:00 pm. Blake, along with music director Michael Thomas Murray at the keys, The Peaches (Ashley Betton, Shira Elias, and Stephany Mora) on backup vocals, Lavondo Thomas on bass, Brad Meehan on drums, and Matthew Polashek on sax return to once again celebrate the musical legacy of Etta James. William Blake, a native Texan, has been performing professionally since the age of 19. After appearing on Season 4 of "American Idol," he made his move to NYC. He has performed at numerous NYC venues such as Carnegie Hall in Standard Time With Michael Feinstein, The Best of Jim Caruso's Cast Party at Town Hall and Rose Hall at Lincoln Center. Mike Murray is a graduate from Yale University and has worked with such notable groups as The Chantels, The Orioles, The Vandellas, The Blue Notes and solo artists Patti LaBelle and Jimmy Guilford. There is a $30 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
