BOSTON: GET JAZZED AT RYLES WITH CELIA SLATTERY & CO.

Nine fabulous singers with Bill Duffy trio will perform in "Get Jazzed" at RYLES JAZZ CLUB (212 Hampshire Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-876-9330) on Tuesday, October 30th at 7:30 pm. Hosted by Celia Slattery, Singer, Songwriter and Voice Teacher, the show features Ethel Ryerson, Heather Thomas, Claire Neely, Thomas Casey, Sara Brodsky, Matt Ben Daniel, Andrea Okerholm, and Leni Webber. It will be an evening of jazz, pop & originals, celebrating the voice! There is a $7 cover.

BOSTON: JULIA AND THE ZEROUNIAN ENSEMBLE

The inimitable song-stylist Julia and the Zerounian Ensemble will perform at THE REGATTABAR at the Charles Hotel (1 Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-395-7757) on Tuesday, October 29th at 7:30 pm. They will perform familiar and exotic songs from around the world singing French, Italian, Armenian, Russian, Persian, Yiddish and Latin tunes in addition to American Songbook classics. Julia's husband, pianist Sarkis Zerounian, leads the versatile and talented ensemble of musicians; 2012 Naumburg Competition winner Tessa Lark on violin, Roberto Cassan on accordion, Mark Henry on bass and Grant Smith on percussion. With a worldwide repertoire of songs, Julia and her ensemble deliver an exciting musical experience with equal parts conviction, authority and heart. She takes on all the different musical genres of these countries performing with her glowing and warm personality and making her truly a "world music singer". There is a $23 cover.

BOSTON: MAGGIE SCOTT AT SCULLERS

Veteran jazz vocalist and pianist Maggie Scott will perform at SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB (400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111) on Tuesday, October 29th a 8:00 pm. Maggie has been performing for six decades and since 1978 has taught voice at Berklee. She has accompanied greats such as Cab Calloway and Eartha Kitt, and mentored such rising talents as McKelle, Andrea Capozzoli '01, Lalah Hathaway '90, and Antonia Bennett '95. She is also considered a trailblazer for female musicians. Dinner/Show: $60 Show only: $20.

TORONTO: JAZZ BISTRO YOUNG ARTIST SERIES: ROBERT CHAPMAN

Robert Chapman, an up-and-coming jazz guitarist from Toronto, will perform at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Tuesday, October 29th at 6:00 pm as part of the club's Young Artist Series. From an early age he as been playing all types of music on various instruments but fell in love with jazz after starting to play with the Hamilton All Star Jazz Band during high school. After graduating high school Robert continued his jazz studies at both Mohawk College and Humber College where he had the opportunity to study and play with some of Canada's finest musicians such as Pat Collins, Mike Malone, Adrean Farrugia, Kieran Overs, Neil Swainson, and many more. During his final year at Mohawk College, Robert was a featured artist on Jazz FM 91.1's 'Jazzology' program. Currently Robert is performing all over the G.T.A. and hopes to play more shows with his trio and quartet. No cover charge.

TORONTO: JORDANA TALSKY - CD RELEASE EVENT

Jordana Talsky will celebrate the release of her debut album, Standard Deviation, atTHE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Tuesday, October 29th at 8:00 pm. This event marks the arrival of a serious young talent in Canadian jazz. The vocalist/songwriter has been turning heads (and ears) on the Toronto scene for the last three years, and her musical career now takes a giant leap forward with her debut recording, which features jazzy takes on pop, poppier takes on jazz and a few original compositions. The vocalist is joined by Scott Metcalfe on keys, Ross MacIntyre on bass, Colin Kingsmore on drums, Paul Metcalfe on saxophone, Eric St. Laurent on guitar and Brownman on trumpet. There is a $20 cover.
