CABARET TONIGHT IN DC: ANGELA WINBUSH AT BLUES ALLEY
Angela Winbush will appear on Friday through Sunday, August 2nd through 4th at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Angela Winbush is a "four-hyphen" musician - producer - arranger - composer - performer. Originally as part of the duo Rene and Angela, and is still around today, creating enveloping tracks with layers of keyboards, gorgeous melodic hooks and lush vocals. Winbush has a powerful voice, an exceptional range and a unique style, she started out as a backup singer for Stevie Wonder. She's one of a handful of women in her generation - along with Patrice Rushen and Brenda Russell - who produced not only their own material but also other artists', working extensively with, among others, the Isley Brothers.
