Keystone Korner Nights / Todd Barkan presents the Brian Lynch Quartet (Brian Lynch, trumpet; Emmet Cohen, piano; Peter Washington, bass; Billy Hart, drums) at IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB (1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121) on Sunday, July 28th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. There is nothing more demanding (and daunting) for a jazz trumpet player than to play an evening's worth of high intensity jazz as the only horn, but Grammy Award winning virtuoso Brian Lynch pulls it off with ease. Playing a varied and dynamic repertoire of original compositions and arrangements selected from his 25 year career as a recording artist (19 CDs as a leader) ranging from swinging post bop to fiery Latin jazz, Lynch covers the bases and gives no quarter when fronting some of the hottest players on the NY jazz scene today! Available as is or augmented with special guests, the Quartet offers the whole range of Brian Lynch's music in one package. There is a $25 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
