NYC: RYAN GREER JAZZ GROUP AT SOMETHIN' JAZZ CLUB
CELEBRATING MARCH IS CABARET MONTH
Vocalist Ryan Greer leads his quintet in a premiere set freshly taking on blues form and modern jazz at SOMETHIN' JAZZ CLUB (formerly MILES CAFE) (212 East 52nd Street, 3rd floor, NYC - 212-371-7657 - ) on Friday, March 8th at 7:00 pm. The quintet consists of Ryan Greer, vocals; Alex DeZenzo, piano; John Feliciano, bass; Josh Schusterman, drums; amd Stephanie Wells, keyboards, percussion. The experimental jam session includes two original compositions by Ryan Greer, an imaginative B-flat pairing of "Blues Connotation" by Ornette Coleman with "Freedom Jazz Dance" by Eddie Harris, the easy funk of "Everybody Loves the Sunshine" by Roy Ayers, a vocal rendition of Wayne Shorter's hard-bop ballad "Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum" as well as new arrangements of standards by Kaper and Washington, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Vince Guaraldi, Chick Corea and Freddie Hubbard. There is a $10 cover.
