CELEBRATING MARCH IS CABARET MONTH
THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) presents John Gabriel on Sunday, March 3rd at 7:00 pm. Born in Niagara Falls and raised in Los Angeles, multi-talented actor-singer John Gabriel enjoys a career that spans a variety of media and genre. John is truly as gifted a singer as he is an actor. He is blessed with movie star good looks as well as a charming sense of humor. He got his first taste of show business as a student at U.C.L.A.. But Gabriel's stint in the Air Force provided the solid foundation needed to "learn the ropes." Based in Alamagordo, New Mexico and charged with the responsibility of providing entertainment for the troops, by the end of his military service, he knew where he was headed next - Hollywood! Gabriel was chosen for the reoccurring role of Andy Rivers, Mary Richards' sportscaster boyfriend on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," but the part for which he is best known is that of Dr. Seneca Beaulac, on the enduring and memorable ABC soap, "Ryan's Hope." John spent 10 years in that role, garnering an Emmy nomination and 20 million faithful fans. He went on to another ABC soap, "Loving," playing ace lawyer Zack Conway. While at ABC daytime, he continued the pursuit of his music. He gathered other musically inclined soap actors and recorded "John Gabriel and Friends". There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
