NYC: BENDELACREME'S COSMOS AT THE BEECHMAN
After an acclaimed and often extended premiere last year, RuPaul's Drag Race favorite BenDeLaCreme returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) with the debut of her latest blend of burlesque, comedy, performance art and music. "BenDeLaCreme's Cosmos" will begin performances on Thursday, April 23rd and run nightly through Monday, April 27th, all shows at 7:00 pm plus a special drag brunch performance on Sunday, April 26 at 1pm. For centuries our greatest minds have tried to unlock the mysteries of our universe and the life within it. But who holds the key to their secrets? BenDeLaCreme sure doesn't. And neither will you after spending an evening under the influence of "BenDeLaCreme's Cosmos," a dizzying deliberation on space, time, and the cocktails that best accompany them. Whether showing off her knowledge of black holes or inviting you to explore her inner space, BenDeLaCreme blends song, spectacle, razor wit, high-camp hijinks and alcohol to create a raucous evening of entertainment certain to delight and misinform. As a performer, emcee, party hostess, and event promoter BenDeLaCreme has appeared in theaters and nightclubs from coast to coast ever since the fateful day in 2002 when s/he realized that normally unsavory behavior could be dressed up in fancy clothes and called "Performance Art." Formerly based in Chicago, but with lucite heels now planted firmly in Seattle, BenDeLaCreme combines his/her background in the performing & visual arts with a love of spectacle, glamour, and Saturday morning cartoons to create a thick sludge of sparkly entertainment certain to stick to your ribs! BenDeLaCreme can be found Emceeing and Performing in various venues throughout Seattle, as well as teaching with the Acadamy of Burlesque. In 2014, the premiere of Terminally Delightful wowed audiences nationally, including an encore engagement in New York. There is a $22-$40 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.
