NYC: BARB JUNGR: HARD RAIN AT 59E59

Barb Jungr: Hard Rain, the songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, will be performed at 59E59 THEATERS (59 East 59th Street, NYC - 212-279-4200 - http://www.59e59.org/) on Tuesday through Sunday, October 28th through November 9th. Showtimes vary so please check the website - . Ms Jungr will be accompanied on piano by Tracy Stark and on percussion by Mike Lunoe. Acclaimed singer Barb Jungr continues to bring the American Songbook into the 21st Century in this new show, breathing new life into the music of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, arguably the best folk/pop songwriters of their generation. The political and philosophical songs by these two music icons make up her hardest hitting set to date. With a song list that includes Masters of War, Hard Rain and Blowing in the Wind, Jungr's celebrated interpretations allow these songs to be heard in brand new ways. There is a $35 cover. Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE(313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. There is no cover charge

NYC: FRANK TORREN ENCORES "MOMENT TO MOMENT"

2014 MAC Award nominee Frank Torren returns to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Wednesday, October 29th to encore his acclaimed show 'Moment to Moment'. It's a cavalcade of carefully-selected songs that have much professional and personal meaning for Frank. Musical Director is Rick Unterberg. Theater has been a major part of Frank Torren's life since he was a young lad in the Latin Quarter of Tampa, Florida. His first theatrical pursuit was the lead in the school play, "The Little Dog Laughed." Soon he had teamed up with his sister to perform a dance act which toured all over and even was invited to a festival in Cuba. Over the years, Frank devoted his professional life to theater, appearing in many musical comedies. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: BOB MUNDY - "SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL" CD RELEASE

After a sold-out pre-release show, jazz vocalist Bob Mundy returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Wednesday, October 29th at 7:00 pm is back to celebrate the release of his debut album titled "Something Beautiful". The show will feature some of the world's finest songs performed by some of NYC's finest Jazz Musicians. Musical Director is Dan Kaufman. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: TISH RABE AND FRIENDS AT THE MET

Tish Rabe and Friends will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, October 29th at 7:00 pm. It is a jazz quartet headlined by Tish Rabe, a graduate of Ithaca College School of Music with a degree in Vocal Performance, who sings classic and contemporary jazz favorites by Natalie Cole, Diana Krall and Michael Buble. The band recently performed to a sell-out crowd at The Side Door Jazz Club and Ms. Rabe sings as a guest artist at local jazz festivals. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. 

NYC: JAVIER RUIBAL AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM 

Composer, arranger, guitarist and singer Javier Ruibal will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, October 29th at 9:30 pm. Javier Ruibal is a Spanish musician and songwriter, born in El Puerto de Santa Maria, province of Cadiz in southern Spain. Ruibal has composed music for several other Spanish artists and famous singers such as Ana Belen or David Broza have sung his compositions. He also appeared on stage together with artists as Pablo Milanes, Joaquin Sabina or Carlos Cano. Javier Ruibal offers an exquisite and rigorous commitment to integration in the social story that coexists. His songs are both beautiful and supportive, intimate and participatory, personal and universal. There is a $30 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. 

NYC: JEREMY JORDAN MAKES SOLO CABARET DEBUT AT 54 BELOW

Jeremy Jordan, star of Broadway, film, and television makes his New York City solo cabaret debut at 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday through Friday, October 27th through 31st at 7:00 pm. . Recounting iconic and deciding moments from his budding career, Jeremy performs the songs that have defined his swift rise to stardom. Selections include music from Broadway's Newsies, NBC's "Smash," and his upcoming film The Last 5 Years, along with many of his own personal favorites. Often more comfortable on stage as a character than himself, this bright young artist steps into the solo spotlight for the very first time to tell us a bit of his own fascinating story. There is a $55-$70 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: TRACY MCDOWELL THE GOOD CRAZY, THE STORY OF A GIRL

Tracy McDowell (Motown, RENT, The Next Big Thing) shares the story of her life thus far and the music that got her through it at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday, October 29th at 9:30 pm. Scary Au Pairs from Germany, mental breakdowns, family drama, sex, addiction, quitting the biz then not quitting the biz, and everything else crazy that made her who she is today. She has the proof. Expect a night of hilarity, video footage, special guests and stories that are almost unbelievable. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
