NYC: BARB JUNGR: HARD RAIN AT 59E59

Barb Jungr: Hard Rain, the songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, will be performed at 59E59 THEATERS (59 East 59th Street, NYC - 212-279-4200 - http://www.59e59.org/) on Tuesday through Sunday, October 28th through November 9th. Showtimes vary so please check the website - . Ms Jungr will be accompanied on piano by Tracy Stark and on percussion by Mike Lunoe. Acclaimed singer Barb Jungr continues to bring the American Songbook into the 21st Century in this new show, breathing new life into the music of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, arguably the best folk/pop songwriters of their generation. The political and philosophical songs by these two music icons make up her hardest hitting set to date. With a song list that includes Masters of War, Hard Rain and Blowing in the Wind, Jungr's celebrated interpretations allow these songs to be heard in brand new ways. There is a $35 cover. NYC: ERIC COMSTOCK AT CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA

Eric Comstock continues his residency at New York's newest music venue, CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA(178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) from 8:00 pm to midnight every Tuesday night. An acknowledged master of the American Songbook, Comstock has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and virtually every important nightclub in New York and across the country. He is one of only a handful of singer/pianists who can command a room merely by sitting at the piano, singing and telling stories. In addition to his extensive knowledge of repertoire, Comstock has a seemingly unending supply of anecdotes about the songs, the writers, and the stars who sang them. His unique combination of musicianship, history and charisma creates an experience that is as entertaining as it is musically savvy, and his audiences feel they've been to a terrific party where the music and the stories have been equally great. Judi Mark reprises her acclaimed show "Dancing Through Life" at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Tuesdays, October 28th and November 18th, both shows at 7:00 pm. Judi performs a one woman show featuring the songbook of Miller, Miranda, McKechnie and more ... songs made famous by the ladies who danced. Arrangements and Musical Direction by Hubert "Tex" Arnold. The show is directed by Jeff Harnar. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE(313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. NYC: JAZZ LEGEND ANNIE ROSS TUESDAYS THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: YANNI BURTON - SAME OLD LOVE

Yanni Burton takes the stage at the accalimed THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) with his show "SameOldLove" on Tuesday, October 28th at 7:00 pm. Joining Burton in concert is musical director and internationally-acclaimed pianist Matthew Sheens, Burton's New York-based chamber orchestra Delphi, and special guests! Together they offer an evening of heartfelt and beautiful music we can all relate to. Having released an EP early this year, Yanni has played throughout New York at famed venues including 54Below, Rockwood Music Hall, and The Bitter End. A Juilliard graduate in double bass, Burton is no stranger to the stage, having performed all over the world with orchestras, chamber groups and rock bands. He most recently shared the concert stage with pop stars John Legend, Michelle Williams and Natasha Bedingfield. A native of Australia, Burton now takes center stage as solo artist, singer and songwriter. The album captures universal themes of love, while he offers us a peak inside his personal world of love and romance. Same Old Love, the CD and concert, will take you on a journey through all the ups and downs we encounter in love, no matter who we are and who we end up falling head over heels for. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: KATHLEEN FRANCE & DAWN DEROW: REVOLUTION

MAC Award nominees Kathleen France and Dawn Derow team up for special evenings at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Tuesday, October 28; Sunday, November 9th and Tuesday November 11th, all shows at 6:30 pm. The best-friend duo will take their audience on a musical journey through a time of war entitled REVOLUTION. They will sing songs of patriotic American women willing to fight for truth, and answer the call to action from the year 1776 to present day. France and Derow will examine messages sent by war, conflict peace and protest. This concept Cabaret show, conceived by Kathleen France, is an homage to what kabarett used to be like in the German tradition. With the use of political satire and gallows humor, REVOLUTION will tackle important civil rights issues affecting American people. This fresh, yet classic, take will make the show a popular entertainment on the New York Cabaret scene. The show, vast in scope and deep in content is better classified as an event! This will give these two cosmopolitan New Yorker's a platform large enough to share their personal stories and forthright observations in an evening of protest, revolution, compassion, healing and laughs. Directed by Lennie Watts. Music directed by Andrew Sotomayor. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. 

NYC: JEREMY JORDAN MAKES SOLO CABARET DEBUT AT 54 BELOW

Jeremy Jordan, star of Broadway, film, and television makes his New York City solo cabaret debut at 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday through Friday, October 27th through 31st at 7:00 pm. . Recounting iconic and deciding moments from his budding career, Jeremy performs the songs that have defined his swift rise to stardom. Selections include music from Broadway's Newsies, NBC's "Smash," and his upcoming film The Last 5 Years, along with many of his own personal favorites. Often more comfortable on stage as a character than himself, this bright young artist steps into the solo spotlight for the very first time to tell us a bit of his own fascinating story. There is a $55-$70 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: WELL-STRUNG PRESENTS 'POPSSICAL' AT 54 BELOW

The all-male string quartet Well-Strung returns 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Tuesday, October 28th at 3:30 pm. The group has been receiving rave reviews all over the world, from the House of Blues in New Orleans to the Leicester Square Theatre in London. Well-Strung's brand new show Popssical, directed by Donna Drake, is written by the quartet. It includes musical arrangements by David Levinson, Well-Strung and Bruce Carter with videos by Randy Rainbow. The foursome features classical musicians who sing and inPopssical the group puts their own spin on the music of Mozart, Beethoven, Ravel, U2, Miley Cyrus, One Direction, Madonna and more. Highlights include U2's With or Without You, Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, One Direction's That's What Makes You Beautiful, one of Beethoven's Razumovsky Quartets and the Ravel string quartet in F major. There is a $40-$50 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: JOHN PIZZARELLI & JESSICA MOLASKEY AT THE CAFE

The acclaimed husband-wife jazz duo of John Pizzarelli & Jessica Molaskey return to THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) for a 4-week run on Tuesday, October 28th through Saturday, November 22nd at 8:45 pm, with a late show on Saturdays at 10:45 pm. Their new show is called 'Grown Up Songs' and features songs by Stephen Sondheim, Johnny Mercer, Paul McCartney, Alan Jay Lerner, Adam Guettel, Billy Joel and more. They will be joined by a band including Kevin Kanner on drums, Martin Pizzarelli on double bass and Konrad Paszkudzki on piano. As always, John Pizzarelli will play guitar. There is a $55-$185 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS - NOW AT THE IGUANA

Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. There is a $15 cover (at the door) plus a $15 food drink minimum.
