OPENS TONIGHT IN NYC TRHOUGH SUNDAY: JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER'S DAVE BRUBECK FESTIVAL: TONIGHT: BRUBECK BROTHERS QUARTET
As part of Jazz at Lincoln Center's Dave Brubeck Festival, DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) presents the Brubeck Brothers Quartet on Monday & Tuesday, April 7th & 8th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. The group is comprised of members of one of America's most accomplished musical families, with Chris Brubeck, bass and trombone; Dan Brubeck, drums; Mike DeMicco, guitar; and Chuck Lamb, piano. The form a dynamic quartet to perform a seriously hard swinging set. The quartet's style is rooted in straight-ahead jazz, but their concerts reveal an inherent ability to explore and play with odd time signatures, while naturally integrating the influences of funk, blues, and world music. There is a $30 cover.
