BOSTON: GHOST TRAIN ORCHESTRA AT SCULLERS
The Ghost Train Orchestra, led by trumpeter Brian Carpenter, will perform atSCULLERS JAZZ CLUB(400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111) on Wednesday, April 9th at 8:00 pm. The Ghost Train Orchestra unearths the little-known and rarely-heard jazz that was a fixture in the dance halls and nightclubs of prohibition-era Harlem and Chicago. A top-notch ten-piece orchestra, they play the music that gave the Jazz Age its name in swinging new arrangements. Their 2011 debut recording was Best Jazz Record of the Year, and their newest album "Book of Rhapsodies", was released in fall 2013. Dinner/Show: $65 Show only: $25.

A brand-new 9 piece band, presenting you the very best in 1960s and '70s, R&B, Funk and Soul featuring performers: Andrew Craig, Gavin Hope, Krystle Blue, Anthony Brancati, Bryan Humphreys, Rich Grossman, Brooksey Brooks, Andrew Stewart, and Mackie Langford. There is a $15 cover.
WASHINGTON D.C.: FLORIAN HOEFNER AT BLUES ALLEY
Jazz pianist and composer, Florian Hoefner will perform at BLUES ALLEY(1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Wednesday, April 9th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Hoefner has toured extensively throughout Europe, the US, and Canada. His performances are featured on ten CD releases, including a collaboration with renowned guitarist, Kurt Rosenwinkel. He has been heard at major festivals across Europe, such as Jazz Baltica in Salzau, Germany, the Bohemia Jazz Fest in the Czech Republic and the Tremplin Jazz Festival in Avignon, France, where his band Subtone was the recipient of both the jury and audience awards. He shared the stage with the likes of Joe Lovano, Seamus Blake, Rich Perry, John Riley and Tim Ries. With his New York-based Florian Hoefner Group he has released two critically acclaimed albums on OA2 Records and has performed over 60 shows in Europe and North America up to date.
