NYC: MICHAEL SCOTT FERRIS MAKES HIS NYC CABARET DEBUT IN "YESTERDAYDREAM"

Singer Michael Scott Ferris will make his NYC cabaret debut in Yesterdaydream at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Thursday, April 10th at 7:30 pm. The show, based on Ferris' debut CD, Yesterdaydream is comprised of standards from bygone eras - eras which Michael tells us he has spent a lot of time "yesterdaydreaming" about. The cabaret, a collaboration with long-time friend and music director Lisa Brigantino, reveals Michael's passion for the songs of the 30's and 40's, as well as for his love of travel ... both around the world, and back in time. Michael earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from the SUNY College at Fredonia, and has toured extensively through out North America and Europe performing in musicals and entertaining on the High Seas with several cruise lines, for which he created his own original cabaret shows. Yesterdaydream marks Michael's New York City cabaret debut. There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: CYNTHIA FARRELL, FOR REAL ... 2.0

Cynthia Farrell brings her show 'For Real ... 2.0' to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, April 10th at 7:00 pm. The show is musically directed by Fran Minarik and directed and co-written by James Horvath, is a one hour show of new arrangements of musical theater material, pop, folk and a latin song which create an autobiographical storyline that take audiences on an emotional journey that people have been saying leave them deeply moved and inspired. Cynthia has been a recording artist and musical theater singer since the age of seven after being chosen for the final call back for the starring role in the movie Annie. She has lived in Manhattan since receiving her BFA at NYU and has made a career out of performing off-broadway and in Europe and Mexico City with such notables as Hal Prince's Director's Co., and James Hammerstein III. Cynthia has gone back and forth from theater to the music business to work with artists such as Stevie Nicks and the record producer Don Was (Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan). She has built a strong career in commercial voiceovers in English and Spanish and is well known for her role of "Catalina", the Puerto Rican gangster in Grand Theft Auto 3 and San Andreas, for any gamers out there! There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JUDY NIEMACK & JAY CLAYTON: "VOICES IN FLIGHT"

Judy Niemack Collaborations presents Judy Niemack & Jay Clayton: "Voices in Flight" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, April 10th at 9:30 pm. Both established artists on the international jazz scene, this double-duo covers new terrain with a fresh take on standards, poetry and original songs. Judy & Jay will be joined by guitarist Jeanfrancois Prins, with Jay Anderson on bass. Judy Niemack and Jay Clayton met on the NYC jazz scene in the 1980s, and since then have collaborated on projects and performances both in the USA and in Europe. Both well known solo artists with strong individual styles, their love of creating music together resulted in this evening of freshly arranged jazz standards, poems, improvisation and original songs. Jay Clayton is an internationally acclaimed vocalist, composer, and educator, whose work boldly spans the terrain between jazz and new music. In 1963 she began her career performing the standards on the vibrant New York music scene. Part of the original Vocal Summit with Bobby McFerrin, breaking new ground in vocal jazz, she continues pushing boundaries in her performing. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: BROADWAY SESSIONS THURSDAYS AT THE LAURIE BEECHMAN

"Every Thursday night, as the curtains fall on Broadway, Host Ben Cameron (from Broadway's Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and his crew of amazingly talented folks welcome a new Broadway star to perform at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) at 10:30 pm in this fun and zany musical theater variety show. Get up close and personal with Broadway's brightest as the stars bare their souls, interact with the crowd and celebrate all things BROADWAY. There is a $5 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: BROADWAY SHOWSTOPPERS AT 54 BELOW

Celebrate some of the most memorable show-stopping musical moments from Broadway - hit after hit - at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday, April 10th at 9:30 pm. The show features some of Broadway's greatest stars, including Tony nominee Carolee Carmello (Parade, Mamma Mia!, Kiss Me, Kate, The Addams Family, Sister Act, Scandalous), Mandy Gonzalez (Wicked, In the Heights, Dance of the Vampires, Aida), Telly Leung (Godspell, Wicked, Rent, Flower Drum Song, Glee), Robert Creighton (Little Me, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Anything Goes) and Kissy Simmons (The Lion King). Join Carolee, Mandy, Telly, Robert, and Kissy as they bring the house down with both show-stopping songs that they originated on Broadway and classic Broadway musical showstoppers. You might even get an insider story or two along the way! There is a $35-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: JUSTIN VIVIAN BOND: THE DRIFT AT JOE'S PUB

Justin Vivian Bond brings his show The Drift to JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) with performances on April 10th & 11th at 9:30 pm. In The Drift, Justin Vivian Bond creates a new, free associative, collage of spoken word and song inspired by the story of Karen Stone, a retired actress who drifts from one space to another - either in her mind, in couture or in bed. Justin will be introducing a bunch of new versions of truly beautiful songs written by Billy Strayhorn, Tim Buckley, Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell plus a few other surprise favorites. Most of these songs are songs Justin has never performed before. There is a $25 cover.
