TONIGHT IN NYC: THE SOUL OF JOHN BLACK FEATURING JOHN BIGHAM AT THE IRIDIUM
The Soul of John Black featuring John Bigham (formerly of Fishbone) will be performed at IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB (1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121) on Wednesday, July 24th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. John "JB" Bigham is a singer, songwriter, performer, producer and innovator who blends the sounds of the past and the future with the smooth confidence and authority of a card shark shuffling a hot deck. But when it comes to creating visionary music under the moniker of his alter-ego/band The Soul of John Black, there's no gambling involved. JB is a former member of legendary funk/punk/rock/pop group Fishbone, having played with them for eight years, including the recording sessions for the bands biggest album "Reality of My Surroundings." He has also performed with Miles Davis and hit-maker Everlast. Bigham has been able to focus on this own artistic vision over the past decade with the Soul of John Black, a funk, hip-hop, blues and soul hybrid, that has been grown organically. With five original albums to their name and a Christmas album, along with countless live performances, the band brings a deeply evolved experience to the stage. In 2013 the band released Sunshine State of Mind with songs off that album receiving airplay across the country. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
