INDIANAPOLIS CABARET TONIGHT: THE SONGS AND STORIES OF JANIS JOPLIN
Local theatre veteran, Karen Irwin, takes the audience on a musical journey through her own personal transformation as inspired by her musical idol, Janis Joplin at THE CABARET AT THE COLUMBIA CLUB (121 Monument Circle, Indianapolis, IN - 317-275-1169) on Friday & Saturday, July 26th & 27th at 8:00 pm. Joplin used her "un-girly" voice and her no-holds-barred, blues-inspired performance style to triumph over her personal and social adversities, forever changing the face of women in music. With anecdotes and Joplin songs including "Mercedes Benz," "Piece of My Heart," and "Bobby McGee," Irwin pays homage to the musical icon that changed her life. There is a $25-$35-$45 cover plus a $12 food/drink minimum.
