TODAY'S CABARET PICK - NYC: JAZZ AT KITANO PRESENTS JOYCE BREACH

Acclaimed jazz vocalist Joyce Breach will perform at THE KITANO HOTEL'S GARDEN CAFE (66 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-885-7119) on Friday, July 26th with sets at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. She is joined by John di Martino, piano; Neal Miner, bass; and Warren Vache, cornet. Joyce is an accomplished and sophisticated interpreter of classic American popular song. Before moving to New York in the 1990s, she was a well-known singer of long-standing reputation in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA when she began to develop a more national profile with her first CD for Audiophile Records, released in 1992. In the fall of 1992, she made her New York debut at the Mabel Mercer Foundation Cabaret Convention in Town Hall. On October 25, 2002, Joyce was presented with the Mabel Mercer Foundation's Cabaret Classic award celebrating her dedication to keeping alive the art of fine singing. Joyce is a favorite at the popular Noon Concert Series at St. Peter's Church. At home in the world of jazz as well as cabaret, she recently recorded her 11th recording, Remembering Mabel Mercer, Volume Three with Keith Ingham. Her other CDs available on Audiophile Records include, Live In London, Remembering Mabel Mercer, Remembering Mabel Mercer, Volume Two, Love is the Thing with cabaret legend William Roy, Reel Songs, a collection of songs from the movies, Nothing But Blue Skies, both with Ingham, This Moment with William Roy, Lovers After All with Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, Confessions with Loonis McGlohon, Songbird and A Christmas Memory have all received excellent critical reviews. There is a $25 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
