SF CABARET PICK OF THE DAY: EMILY BERGL IN "UNTIL THE REAL THING COMES ALONG"

SF CABARET PICK OF THE DAY: EMILY BERGL IN "UNTIL THE REAL THING COMES ALONG"

FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063 - ) welcomes Emily Bergl in her show "Until The Real Thing Comes Along" on Thursday through Saturday, July 25th through 27th at 8:00 pm. Emily Bergl, best known for her role on TV shows such as "Desperate Housewives" and Broadway, burst on the cabaret scene in 2011, garnering raves from The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. She has performed at the legendary Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, Cafe Carlyle, and across the country. Her third show, Until the Real Thing Comes Along, exposes the lengths we go to in our search for love and what we do to when we don't find it, or even more frightening, when we do. In her signature nouveau cabaret style, Bergl uses the past to illuminate the present, blending together Irving Berlin with Blondie, Rodgers and Hammerstein with Tracey Chapman, and even Noel Coward with Britney Spears. Audiences are treated not only to an evening of diverse songs, but a full cast of characters all personified by this veteran Broadway actress. For anyone looking for an evening of song that's heartbreaking, droll, and a little dangerous, this is your cabaret. The show is directed by Sarna Lapine (War Horse, Sondheim on Sondheim, South Pacific), and musical directed by Jonathan Mastro, composer and musical director for David Cromer's hit revival of Our Town. There is a $30-$45-$55 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.
