NYC: AMY BETH WILLIAMS IN CRAZY TO LOVE YOU

Amy Beth Williams will bring her show Crazy To Love You to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Wednesday, August 6th at 7:00 pm. Daryl Kojak serves as musical director, and the show is directed by Tanya Moberly. A graduate of Cornell University with an MFA in acting and a BFA from SUNY Binghamton in theater, she has performed in regional theater and Off-Off Broadway. Now cabaret is what she loves to do and, after being a runner up in the MetroStar Talent Challenge at the Metropolitan Room in 2010, she has performed her show Once in Love With Amy at the Metropolitan Room with her musical director and pianist, Daryl Kojak. No stranger to cabaret, in years past Amy has appeared at Don't Tell Mama, 55 Grove, Eighty Eights, and Danny's and was a participant in the Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention. Amy Beth is honored to be the recipient of the 2012 Bistro Award for Outstanding Vocalist and was the 2014 MAC-Hanson Award Recipient. Call for cover/minimum information.

NYC: KT SULLIVAN AND JEFF HARNAR: OUR TIME

KT Sullivan and Jeff Harnar bring their show 'Our Time: Sullivan & Harnar sing Sondheim' to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Wednesdays, August 6th & 13th at 6:00 pm. Its a new show of Sondheim standards and rarely heard gems. Musical director is Jon Weber. KT has headlined at Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, and The Caramoor Festival. She has also performed at The Spoleto Festival, The New York Historical Society, La Nouvelle Eve in Paris, The Chichester Festival in the U.K. and at The Adelaide Festival in Australia. In March 2012, she became Artistic Director of the Mabel Mercer Foundation, producer of the annual Cabaret Convention. Jeff Harnar is an Award-winning New York cabaret and recording artist who is known for his critically acclaimed engagements at The Algonquin Hotel's Oak Room; Feinstein's at The Regency; The Metropolitan Room and most recently at Birdland and Iridium. His Carnegie Hall appearances include both the Cole Porter and Noel Coward Centennial Galas. He appeared at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall in a sold-out solo concert, and "A TALENT TO AMUSE" hosted by Sheridan Morely. There is a $30 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: BARRET IS BACK ON RESTAURANT ROW

Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE (313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. There is no cover charge.

NYC: PIA ZADORA AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Golden Globe winner, Grammy nominee, ShowWest winner, accomplished singer, film and Broadway star Pia Zadora will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for 5 nights in Augusts. Performance dates are Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturday, August 5th, 6th & 9th at 7:00 pm; Thursday, August 7th at 9:30 pm; and Sunday, August 10th at 4:00 pm. Performing since the age of six, for those who have seen her in concert, what comes to mind first, and describes this multi-talented performer is simply this: Pia Zadora is the complete entertainer. Pia's career began on Broadway with Tallulah Bankhead after she was discovered while studying acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Art. This success led to a number of Broadway shows including a two-year stint as Tevye's youngest daughter in Fiddler On The Roof with Zero Mostel; the Broadway stage version of The World of Henry Orient; and featured roles in Applause, Promises Promises, The Sound Of Music, Little Mary Sunshine, Funny Girl, Damn Yankees, Crazy for You and Dames At Sea. Pia also appeared on television in The Nurses, The Defenders, Ed Sullivan, and The Perry Como Show. Later she appeared in the feature films with Orson Welles in The Lonely Lady, with Stacy Keach in Butterfly, Hairspray and Naked Gun 33 1/3rd: The Final Insult. There is a $35 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: COURTNEY ACT: BOYS LIKE ME

Australian Idol sensation and RuPaul's Drag Race Season 6 contestant Courtney Act returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Wednesdays, Auguts 6th, 13th & 20th at 9:30 pm with an encore of her acclaimed solo show. In Courtney Act: Boys Like Me, the multi-talented drag idol sings her favorite songs and divulges the fascinating and funny dirty laundry list that is her love life. There's that angry text from a straight boy's girlfriend, the twins in Montreal, and the US Marine, just to name a few of the titillating encounters she details in story and song. This tuneful, hysterical performance showcases Courtney's sharp observations of living life on the gender divide, and illustrates what happens when boys like her. NYC: NELLIE MCKAY: A GIRL NAMED BILL

Nellie McKay will bring her show A Girl Named Bill - The Life and Times of Billy Tipton to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Tuesday through Thursday, August 5th through 7th at 7:00 pm and Friday & Saturday, August 8th & 9th at 8:00 pm. Nellie McKay has recently finished an extended run in the off-Broadway hit Old Hats and has written two acclaimed musical biographies, Silent Spring: It's Not Nice to Fool Mother Nature, an exploration of environmental pioneer Rachel Carson, and I Want to Live!, the story of Barbara Graham, the third woman executed in the gas chamber at San Quentin. Nellie's music has been heard on the TV shows Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, Weeds, Grey's Anatomy, NCIS and Nurse Jackie, and McKay has appeared on numerous TV shows including Late Show with David Letterman (with the Brooklyn Philharmonic). In 2010, the Chase Brock Experience produced a ballet of Obligatory Villagers, and her writing has appeared in The Onion, Interview and The New York Times Book Review, where she delivered an incisive in-depth review of a Doris Day biography. Nellie produced her critically acclaimed, debut double album Get Away From Me with Beatles' engineer Geoff Emerick, followed by Pretty Little Head, Obligatory Villagers, Normal as Blueberry Pie: A Tribute to Doris Day, and her latest, Home Sweet Mobile Home. Nellie will be performing with her band members, Alexi David on bass, Cary Park on guitar, and Kenneth Salters on drums. There is a $50-$60 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: JONATHAN KARRANT AT 54 BELOW

Jonathan Karrant performs songs from his current album "On and On" which recently hit #4 in the All About Jazz charts, at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday, August 6th at 9:30 pm, He will also include a collection of some of his favorite jazz standards from the American songbook. His show is seasoned with the music and anecdotes of Cole Porter in anticipation of his soon to be released Cole Porter CD. Jonathan is known for digging deep and singing songs that, while well known, are not the typical standards. He will be accompanied by The John di Martino Trio. Jonathan Karrant is an Arkansas native who at age 17, studied at New York's prestigious William Esper Studio, and was subsequently hired by the famed Metropolitan Opera House to play character roles in their performances. After three years with the Met, Karrant went on to Las Vegas where he met Vince Falcone. Together with Vince, Jonathan's first CD was produced entitled "Introducing Jonathan Karrant". Since then, he has toured the States and Europe, gathering fans and gaining recognition wherever he performs. Jonathan Karrant currently resides in San Diego, CA. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
