TONIGHT IN NYC: JUDY KUHN BRINGS HER OWN 'PASSION' TO 54 BELOW
Celebrating the launch of her new solo album, "ALL THIS HAPPINESS", on PS Classics, Judy Kuhn is making her debut at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday, June 10th and Wednesday, June 12th at 7:00 pm. The show features Dan Lipton, Musical Director, cellist Peter Sachon and percussionist Damien Bassman. The show will include songs from the new CD as well as some of her other favorites. Ranging from standards to contemporary fare, song selections include Cole Porter's, I Concentrate on You, Cy Coleman & Carolyn Leigh's, The Best Is Yet to Come, Joni Mitchell's, Help Me, Leonard Cohen's Dance Me to the End of Love, Jule Styne and Frank Loesser's, Look At You, Look At Me and Stephen Sondheim's, In Buddy's Eyes among others. A three-time Tony Award nominee for her work in She Loves Me, Les Miserables and Chess, Kuhn was most recently seen as Fosca in the Classic Stage Company's critically acclaimed revival of the Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine musical, Passion. She has performed on concert stages around the world; sang the title role in Disney's feature film Pocahontas, as well as the sequel, Pocahontas II: Journey To a New World and has garnered many film and television credits throughout her career. She can be heard on numerous original cast recordings as well as her two solo CD's Just in Time: Judy Kuhn Sings Jule Styne and Serious Playground: The Songs of Laura Nyro. There is a $35-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
