Song Stylist & Blues Singer Baano picks up where she left off, bringing songs and styles that continue to imprint her artistic style and growth toTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, June 10th at 9:30 pm. Following in the tradition of authentic RB & Jazz, Baano stays true to standard tunes by delivering the stated melody with inspiration gathered along the way from the music's legends and heartfelt personal experiences. Baano has appeared at Sweet Rhythm, Cobi's Place, Dwyer Cultural Center, Flushing Town Hall, Danny's Skylight Room, and festivals in the metropolitan area. Her sets have been described as "incredibly captivating," and in the tradition of Jazz greats, Baano has done her homework well. Baano sings with intensity, taste and intelligence. No gimmicks and no tricks. Special guest is tenor titan George Coleman, who has performed and recorded with many of Jazz's most legendary figures, including B.B. King, Max Roach, Freddie Hubbard, Miles Davis, and Herbie Hancock. Bandleader, composer, arranger and writer, George has influenced countless saxophonists during his half century in music and continues to be a unanimous favorite among dedicated jazz aficionados. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
