The Willie Jones III Sextet (Willie Jones III, drums; Jeremy Pelt, trumpet; Stacy Dillard, saxophones; Warren Wolf, vibes; Eric Reed, piano; Dezron Douglas, Vincente Archer, bass) performs atDIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) Thursday through Sunday, June 13th through 16th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Known for his straight, swinging jazz and bop, the award-winning drummer has a storied background as a sideman with artists such as Herbie Hancock, Roy Hargrove, Hank Jones, and Kurt Elling. For the last 13 years he has been producing records both his own and those of notable contemporaries on his WJ3 label, with a strong emphasis on swing and traditional jazz rhythms.
