L.A.: SHELLY MARKHAM DEBUTS NEW CD AT THE GARDENIA TONIGHT
Composer/musical director Shelly Merkham is debuting his new CD, Things I've Learned Along the Way, atTHE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444) on Friday, June 14th at 9:00 pm. Perhaps best known to Gardenia fans for his longstanding association with Andrea Marcovicci as her musical director and arranger, Mr. Markham has also worked with a most diverse roster of other performers, including Lainie Kazan, Michael Feinstein, Margaret Whiting, Nell Carter, Ann Jillian, Gogi Grant, Julie Wilson, Chad Mitchell, Carol Lawrence, and Bonnie Franklin. As a composer he has worked with many lyricists, including Amanda McBroom and Carol Hall, and has enjoyed a long and successful collaboration with the acclaimed poet and author, Judith Viorst.
