NYC: MIDTOWN JAZZ AT MIDDAY: DARYL SHERMAN & ART BARON
MIDTOWN JAZZ AT MIDDAY continues at ST. PETER'S CHURCH - SANCTUARY (619 Lexington Avenue, NYC - 212-935-2200) every Wednesday. Midday Jazz Midtown is an ongoing jazz program for the midtown community. Concerts take place in the Sanctuary of Saint Peter's Church and are presented by Midtown Arts Common in cooperation with Saint Peter's Church. Ronny Whyte is the producer. The show on Wednesday, February 11th at 1:00 pm features Daryl Sherman & Art Baron. A sparkling mainstay of Manhattan nightlife, singer/pianist Daryl Sherman is equally at home in the world of jazz and cabaret. Internationally acclaimed for a stellar 14-year run at the Waldorf Astoria, she played Cole Porter's Steinway and has headlined the annual Cole Porter Festival in his hometown - Peru, Indiana. Art Baron is an American jazz trombonist. He joined the Duke Ellington band in August 1973, at the age of 23, during the last year Ellington led the band, and was the last trombonist Ellington ever hired. He has performed and/or recorded with Buddy Rich, Bruce Springsteen, Lou Reed, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, to name a few. Midday Jazz Midtown is a series produced by Ronny Whyte in partnership with Midtown Arts Common. Concerts are 1 hour long, and held on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. at Saint Peter's Church. A $10 donation is requested.

FRAMINGHAM, MA: AMAZING THINGS OPEN MIC FEATURING CHRISTINE FONTANA
Every second Wednesday of the month Leslie Holmes hosts an amazing Open Mic night at the AMAZING THINGS ARTS CENTER (160 Hollis Street, Framingham, MA - 508-405-2787), and each show features a special guest. On Wednesday, February 11th the featured guest will be Christine Fontana. Pianist for both Christine and the open mic is Tom LaMark. A passionate singer since very young, Christine Fontana has continually been honing her craft and has grown into a true professional performer, who puts her heart and soul in one hundred percent. Her vocal abilities are as varied as her taste in music, and she appreciates and sings from a wide variety of genres from jazz/blues/soul, to broadway, to folk/country. Christine has performed in a number of local venues including Nicks Restaurant and Bar in Worcester, The Marriott Custom house in Boston, Marlborough Country Club, and has also participated in community theater, charity events, and BACA (Boston Association of Cabaret Artists) festivals. This will be her third time featuring at the Amazing things cabaret open-mic, and she is thrilled to do so. The open-mic starts at 7:00 pm (signup at 6:30 pm), and the featured performers go on at 8:10 pm. There is an $10 cover charge ($9 cover for BACA members).

LONDON: JEFF HARNAR AND KT SULLIVAN AT THE CRAZY COQS
Crazy Coqs cabaret favourites Jeff Harnar and KT Sullivan sing Sondheim like you've never heard before in their moving and powerful show OUR TIME at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Saturday, February 10th through 14th. As two of the world's most acclaimed cabaret artists, KT Sullivan (Broadway: The Threepenny Opera, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes; Cabaret: Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, the Oak Room at the Algonquin, The Kennedy Center) and Jeff Harnar (Cabaret venues across the world including Carnegie Hall, and winner of the 2012 Noel Coward Foundation Cabaret Award) perform classics such as Send in the Clowns, Losing My Mind, Being Alive and Pretty Women, introducing new takes to familiar and less familiar material. Under the musical direction and arrangements of gifted accompanist Jon Weber, they give a new insight into the timeless music of Stephen Sondheim. Prior to debuting Our Time at Crazy Coqs, Harnar and Sullivan performed a sold-out summer engagement at The Laurie Beechman Theater in New York. Call for cover/minimum information.
