TORONTO: DENIS SCHINGH - SOLO PIANO AT THE JAZZ BISTRO
Denis Schingh, an eclectic Franco-Ontarian solo pianist and composer living and performing in Toronto performs at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Tuesday, January 6th at 8:00 pm. Schingh's influences are diverse, from pop/rock (Beatles, Pink Floyd, Massive Attack), to modern jazz (Miles Davis, Keith Jarrett) to the classical avant-garde (Steve Reich, Morton Feldman), and also include elements from every musical taste he has acquired along the way. His music is intellectual but sensual, structured but improvised, bold but safe even for children. His solo album Branches, released in 2014, includes several recent compositions.
