WASHINGTON, DC: THE BOHEMIAN CAVERNS JAZZ ORCHESTRA MONDAYS
The Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra performs every Monday night at BOHEMIAN CAVERNS (2001 Eleventh Street N.W., Washington, DC) with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Still the Hottest Big Band in the City, The Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra is a 17 piece powerhouse force cofounded by baritone saxophonist Brad Linde, trumpeter Joe Herrera and club owner Omrao Brown. The BCJO presents a variety of music from big band literature and features some of the District's best musicians. Music from Ellington, Basie, Strayhorn, Thad Jones, Oliver Nelson, Maria Schneider and originals by band members will embrace and challenge the tradition of big band repertoire. WASHINGTON, DC: GEOFF GALLANTE AT BLUES ALLEY
Geoff Gallante, 13-year-old cornet, trumpet & flugelhorn soloist extraordinaire, will perform at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141 - ) on Monday, January 5th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. He has performed in 34 states including five different ensembles of the U.S. Military! By the age of six he had already garnered guest soloist engagements with the likes of the the Louisville Orchestra and Duke Ellington Orchestra and Philadelphia Brass Quintet. As anthem performer, Geoff has appeared in 16 pro-sports venues across the country: 7 Major League Baseball stadiums, 8 NBA arenas and 1 NHL arena! He's the youngest instrumentalist, at six years old, to ever perform at the White House or at the prestigious Kennedy Center in D.C. There is a $20 cover.
