TORONTO: SUNDAY NIGHT CABARET WITH DOROTHY STONE & ORI DAGAN
Internationally renowned operatic soprano Dorothy Stone joins forces with "Canada's Next Top Crooner" Ori Dagan on Sunday, August 10th at 7:00 pm at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299). In this cabaret, entitled, "American Songbook Pot Pourri" the two deliver some of the greatest songs of the 20th century in a variety of styles. Based in New York City, Dorothy Stone has taught and performed in opera, operetta, musical theatre and recitals throughout the United States, Europe and South America. In demand as both active performer and master teacher, she combines her unique and holistic style of teaching with a broad knowledge of vocal repertoire, encompassing a large variety of musical styles. Voted Toronto's "Best Male Vocalist" in the Now Magazine's Reader's Poll, Ori Dagan was also named "Canada's Next Top Crooner" by CBC Radio 1. He was initially inspired to sing by Ella Fitzgerald's genius scat solos and spent nearly a decade studying jazz formally before releasing his debut album, "S'Cat Got My Tongue," which garnered critical acclaim for the singer's sense of musical adventure. There is a $20 cover.
