NYC: RUTH CARLIN: "A LIGHT IN THE WINDOW – SONGS OF JUDY COLLINS."

Singer/songwriter Ruth Carlin returns to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE(61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) in August with her critically acclaimed show, "A Light in the Window - Songs of Judy Collins." The show is directed by Scott Barnes, with accompaniment by Carlin's Musical Director, Paul Greenwood, on piano, Dick Sarpola on bass and John Redsecker on drums. Performed in May and June at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, Ms. Carlin returns with her illuminating exploration of the eclectic anthology of songs sung by Judy Collins. She touches on Ms. Collins' 50-year career spanning her early days in the '60s, her embrace of the Great American Songbook, musical theater and pop music. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: ADAM SANK IN "MAMA, I WANT TO SING SHOWTUNES: A ONE 'MO SHOW!"

In a return engagement at the legendaryTHE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE(61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438), popular New York comic Adam Sank stars in his own cabaret show, complete with songs, comedy and humiliating childhood stories. Performances are Thursday, August 14th at 9:30 pm and Thursday, August 21st at 7:00 pm. He is joined by special guest singer/actress Erika Amato, fresh off the national tour of "Flashdance." The show is directed by Maria Gentile, with musical direction by Michael Isaacs. Sank shares such terrifying-but-true tales as: that time in 7th grade he got up in front of the entire school at morning assembly and sang "Corner of the Sky"- a cappella and off-key; his world-renowned appearance as Magaldi in the 1987 Kent Place School for Girls production of "Evita."; how a bathroom stall and a fraternity brother finally led him out of the closet; why NBC's "Last Comic Standing" almost made him famous ... but didn't. And more! There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: NEWSBOYS OF NEW YORK RALLY AT 54 BELOW

Everyone's favorite newsboys (and girls) from the the cast of that hit Broadway show on 41st Street gather at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday, August 14th at 7:00 & 11:30 pm to show a side of themselves you may not have seen yet. Get ready for songs, stories, dances, comedy gold and possibly even some audience participation. Directed by Yvette Kojic & produced by Shoshana Feinstein. Cast includes: Aaron Albano, Giuseppe Bausilio, Tommy Bracco, Caitlyn Caughell, Corey Cott, Ben Fankhauser, Michael Fatica, JP Ferreri, John Michael Fiumara, Julie Foldesi, Damon J. Gillespie, Lewis Grosso, David Guzman, Jacob Guzman, Liana Hunt, Molly Jobe, Adam Kaplan, Evan Kasprzak, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Jess LeProtto, Luca Padovan, Daniel Quadrino, Julie Reiber, Andy Richardson, Matthew Schechter, Jack Scott, Ryan Steele, Laurie Veldheer, Alex Wong, Iain Young, and Stuart Zagnit. NYC: TONY YAZBECK MAKES HIS 54 BELOW DEBUT WITH THE FLOOR ABOVE ME

Just in time for his return to the Great White Way as Gabey in next season's revival of On the Town, perennial song and dance man Tony Yazbeck heats up the stage at54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday, August 11th and Thursday, August 14th at 9:30 pm and Tuesday, August 19th at 7:00 pm with The Floor Above Me - a thrilling evening of tenor melodies and tenacious tap dancing! The beloved Broadway vet, late of Little Me at Encores!, who has also appeared in Gypsy (Tulsa), Chicago (Billy Flynn), Irving Berlin's White Christmas (Phil Davis), A Chorus Line (Al), Oklahoma!, Never Gonna Dance and NBC's Smash - will be joined by fellow Broadway hoofer Curtis Holbrook (If/Then, West Side Story, Xanadu) and tap dance sensation Melinda Sullivan (So You Think You Can Dance, Glee). In this show, with tunes spanning from MGM to Joni Mitchell, Tony will weave tales from his first Broadway gig at age 11 (as a Newsboy in Tyne Daly's Gypsy) to his recent turn as Tulsa in the Patti LuPone revival, as well as share anecdotes from his professional and personal journey that has established him as a stalwart New York song and dance man. Musical direction and arrangements by Jerome Korman, evening written by Howard Emanuel. There is a $30-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
