NYC: DRAGON'S BREATH WITH LORINDA LISITZA MAKES NYC PREMIERE
DRAGON'S BREATH, starrin MAC, Nightlife, and Bistro award-winning actress and cabaret artist Lorinda Lisitza premieres at the 18th Annual New York International Fringe Festival on Saturday, August 9th at 3:15 pm atTEATRO LATEA AT THE CLEMENTE SOTO VELEZ CULTURAL CENTER(107 Suffolk Street, NYC) as part of the New York International Fringe Festival. Additional performances are scheduled for Monday, August 11th at 9:15 pm; Friday, August 15th at 2:00 pm; Saturday, August 16th at 4:45 pm; and Saturday, August 23rd at 7:00 pm. Others in the cast include Hannah Sloat, Edgar Eguia, Kendra Holloway, Christopher Michael McLamb, Michael C. O'Day, and Ellen Warner. Playwright, Michael C. O'Day makes his writing debut with this production. DRAGON'S BREATH is directed by Mikaela Kafka, known for her directing work with Centenary Stage and NJ Dramatists. The play is the story of a Young Adult paranormal romance writer who accidentally creates a dangerous cult. Justine Drake is a first-time writer navigating the unfamiliar worlds of e-publishing, fantasy conventions, and internet trolls in an effort to see her Dragon's Breath books in print alongside the likes of The Hunger Games and Twilight. Her efforts take an unexpected turn, however, when her books form the bible of a religious movement hatched by her number-one fan. Tickets are $18.00 in advance, $24 at the door.
NYC: SANDRA BARGMAN IN THE EDGE OF EVERYDAY
Sacred Stages LLC presents Sandra Bargman in 'The Edge of Everyday' at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, August 15th at 7:00 pm and Friday, September 12th at 7:00 pm. The show is directed by multi MAC and Bistro Award winner Shawn Moninger. Musical Director and Arranger is Ian Herman. Kahlil Kwame Bell provides percussion. The Edge of Everyday explores our fear of change and ultimately, our acceptance of the dichotomies of Life. "The Edge" is where our resistance, our reluctance to embrace the diversity of life, meets with the inevitability of change in all the corners of our lives. Sandra considers the tension between these seeming paradoxes with poignancy and comedy, and with music ranging from Bowie and Clapton to Georgia Stitt and David Cantor, the show is a ritual ride! Sandra Bargman has appeared in the Madison Square Garden's Broadway National tour of CINDERELLA starring Eartha Kitt. She has appeared Off-Broadway, has played leading roles in regional theaters and summer stock productions across the country, and has sung in many of the cabaret rooms of NYC. She holds a BFA from Carnegie-Mello University. Her distinct voice can be heard in numerous radio and television commercials.

D.J. Pierce, the force of nature also known as Shangela returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 - ) on Friday & Saturday, August 15th & 16th at 7:00 pm and Sunday, August 17th at 9:30 pm with an all-new show. Straight Outta Paris, Loud Country & Outta Control! You can catch the hilarious one-woman show packed with songs, dance and laughter all weekend. There is a $22-$40 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
NYC: C'MON GET HAPPY! WITH JONES AND HANCOCK

A benefit cabaret for Housing Works, the duo promise a night of inspirational and motivational song. There is no cover, just a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: THE SWINGAROOS AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM
THE SWINGAROOS, a 6-piece NYC/Westchester jazz group, will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, August 15th at 7:00 pm. They will entertain with their original 1930-40's-inspired tunes as well as forgotten goodies by world-famous bandleaders Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller and Artie Shaw. Their jive is hot swing with hollywood class and a vaudeville spirit. THE SWINGAROOS are led by Kimberly "Miss Kim" Hawkey (vocals/ tenor banjo/ washboard/ mouth "trumpet") and Assaf Gleizner (piano) and supported by a bass player, drummer, horn section and special guest vocalists. Together, they have performed for fine establishments such as Birdland, Jazz at Kitano, Under St. Mark's Theatre, the Belleayre Music Festival, White Plains Performing Arts Center, and Caramoor Center for Music & the Arts in Katonah, NY. Founding members and newly-engaged couple, Assaf Gleizner and Kimberly Hawkey, have an award-winning performance history with American Traditions Vocal Competition in Savannah, GA (Gold Medal and Johnny Mercer Award), the Jazz Forum Arts Vocal Competition in Westchester County (Winner) and the Cabaret Showdown (September 2013 Winner/ February 2014 All-Star Champion). There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

In an intimate cabaret setting, Ariana (Bring It On, Motown, Pippin) defies limitations of gender, age & race in TYPED OUT. In collaboration with Ben Rauhala (music direction), Kurt Crowley (arrangements), & two-time Tony nominee Terrence Mann (creative consultant), Ariana investigates what it is to be ethnically ambiguous in a world that thrives on labels. Audiences can expect a variety of mash-ups, medleys and more! There is a $25 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
