WASHINGTON, DC: ERIC FELTEN JAZZ ORCHESTRA WITH "THE BIG BAND SOUND OF WWII"

The Eric Felten Jazz Orchestra will present "The Big Band Sound of WWII" atBLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Thursday, July 3rd with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Eric Felten grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, where he began studying trombone at age nine with his grandfather, a veteran of east-coast bands from the Swing Era. At 24, Eric was named best new jazz trombonist by the International Trombone Association. In 1993 he released his first album for the respected European jazz label Soul Note, T-Bop, a record that featured Eric with legendary trombonist Jimmy Knepper and a young Joshua Redman. The result was a critically acclaimed debut album that earned four stars in Down Beat magazine. This show will feature an 18 Piece Big Band. Call for cover/minimum information.

BETHESDA, MD: RINGO JINGO, THE ULTIMATE SANTANA TRIBUTE

Gringo Jingo, The Ultimate Santana Tribute will be presented at BETHESDA BLUES & JAZZ SUPPER CLUB (7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD - 240-330-4500) on Thursday, July 3rd at 7:30 pm. This eight-piece band delivers the rich latin-infused, signature sound of Carlos Santana. Prepare to be wowed by a booming percussion session, top-notch vocals, and of course, an awesome lead guitar. Fronted by Vegas veteran Steve Reed, who's opened for Molly Hatchet,Motorhead, and the Guess Who just to name a few- this tribute band will wow you with classic Santana hits like "Black Magic Woman" and "Soul Sacrifice," and captivate with contemporary hits like "Maria, Maria" and "Smooth." It's always a foot-stomping good time, come be a part of the fun! Ladies night - free ($15 cover for men).
