Each month, the very talented singer, pianist, composer and entertainer Joe Stilgoe will be picking a favourite composer/ lyricist and mixing their songs with his own in his show atTHE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888). Joe Stilgoe is one of the world's finest singer-pianists, touring constantly with his band and as a solo act, having appeared at jazz clubs and festivals around the world. Last summer he made his solo debut at the Edinburgh Fringe where his show One Hour! was a sell-out and critically acclaimed. His 2013 single Abracadabra shot to the top of the Jazz Charts. LONDON: SONG SUITE VOCAL FESTIVAL 2014: LOIRE MUSIC SHOWCASE / "TOGETHER IN CONCERT" ANITA WARDELL, CLEVELAND WATKISS AND TINA MAY
On Sunday, June 29th, THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) presents another in it's series SONG SUITE VOCAL FESTIVAL 2014. At 8:00 pm, past and present vocal students from "The Loire Music Summer School" will be showcased in this set. Then at 9:30 pm, Anita Wardell has brought together Cleveland Watkiss and Tina May for an amazing set of vocal virtuosity, bebop influenced improvisation and show stopping swing and groove. British virtuoso vocalist, actor and composer, Cleveland Watkiss is also London Jazz Awards winner for Best Vocalist in 2010, Wire/Guardian Jazz Awards "Best Vocalist" for three consecutive years. Tina has been at the forefront of the UK and international jazz vocal scene, having collaborated and recorded with many musicians over the years - Ray Bryant, Nikki Iles, Bobby Watson, Enrico Pieranunzi, Marcel Zanini.
