Josh Meredith recounts through show tunes, pop songs, and hymns his journey from a bizarre childhood in small town West Virginia to life in the Big Apple at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Wednesday, March 12th at 9:30 pm.. Join Josh (and friends!) with accompanist Nick Graffagna for a night of classic cabaret entertainment. There is no cover charge - just a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: 16 YEAR OLD HANNAH GILL AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM
Hannah Gill, whose debut EP (released on Greene Street Music, March 4th, 2014) launched a remarkable, mature talent will perform atTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, March 13th at 7:00 pm. She might only be 16, but Hannah Gill's voice carries a world of experience in every note. That's all the more surprising when her only public performances have been in high school musicals in her hometown of Easton, MD, and talent shows. But she'd sung around the house from an early age and loves folk music and plenty of ragtime, jazz, especially Ella Fitzgerald as well as a bunch of acoustic music (the Avett Brothers, etc.). There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: TO OSCAR WITH LOVE ... THE MUSIC OF BRAZIL
Vocalist/ guitarist/ songwriter Kristine Mills shares the songs that exhilarated her for decades in what she calls "her love letter" to the late, great Oscar Castro Neves at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, March 13th at 9:30 pm. She is backed by Steve Doyle - bassist/ arranger/ composer and Klaus Mueller - pianist/ arranger. Oscar, a Brazilian guitarist, arranger, composer and emerged in the early 1960s as one of the founding figures of the Bossa Nova musical movement. Oscar was not only a mentor, but a guide to understanding the subtle grace of true bossa nova. Oscar passed away last year. To honor this wonderful man, she will soar through the range of emotions explored by Brazilian music and Oscar's inspiration. The seductive melodies of Brazilian music from the years of classic Bossa Nova through present day will take her audience on an exquisite journey. Kristine shared many conversations with Oscar about Bossa Nova and Brazilian music in general. Oscar's adorable antidotes about the heart and soul of this gorgeous music personify life's most basic component, the celebration of love. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

New York's sunny and engaging 2013 break out vocalist Marissa Mulder will perform at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday, March 13th at 7:00 pm. Marissa will debut her new show "Speak To Me". Marissa is the winner of the Mabel Mercer Foundation's Noel Coward Competition and the New York Cabaret Convention's Julie Wilson Award. Enjoy the new shapes and textures Marissa lends to the music of Harold Arlen, Cole Porter, Tom Waits, John Prine and more. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
NYC: ZOE SARNAK MAKES 54 BELOW DEBUT
Zoe Sarnak will premiere songs from The Years Between: an exploration of New York's millennials as the latest lost generation, set to a score of rock, folk, pop, and soul at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday, March 13th at 9:30 pm. Zoe Sarnak is an award-winning composer and songwriter whose musicals include A Lasting Impression, Mixtape and Painless, co-written with Michael Kimmel (The Last Goodbye). To celebrate, she's inviting favorite performers from concerts past and recording the night for a LIVE CONCEPT ALBUM. Joining Zoe are Aaron Albert, Allison Case (Hair), Laura Dreyfuss (Once), Meghann Fahy (Next to Normal), Jason Gotay (Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark), Marcus Paul James (Rent), Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot), Grace McLean (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812), Taylor Noble(A Lasting Impression), Preston Sadleir (Next to Normal), Kacie Sheik (Hair), Julia Mattison (Godspell), and more special guests still to be announced. NYC: JUSTIN VIVIAN BOND: THE DRIFT AT JOE'S PUB
Justin Vivian Bond brings his show The Drift to JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) with performances on Thursday & Friday, March 13th & 14th and 27th & 28th at 7:00 pm and April 10th & 11th at 9:30 pm. In The Drift, Justin Vivian Bond creates a new, free associative, collage of spoken word and song inspired by the story of Karen Stone, a retired actress who drifts from one space to another - either in her mind, in couture or in bed. Justin will be introducing a bunch of new versions of truly beautiful songs written by Billy Strayhorn, Tim Buckley, Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell plus a few other surprise favorites. Most of these songs are songs Justin has never performed before. There is a $25 cover.
