NYC: MATURE LOVE SONGS WITH LYNDA RODOLITZ
Lynda Rodolitz brings her show 'Mature Love Songs' toTHE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, March 9th at 4:30 pm. From her "mature" perspective, Lynda Rodolitz takes a clear-eyed look at love and finds it lacking. She considers life's successes and not-so's, and tells the truth as only a very funny lady can. Lynda is joined on stage by music director Paul Greenwood. Helen Baldassare directs. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: BIG TO DO! A NEW MUSICAL AT THE DUPLEX
A new musical, 'Big To Do' will be performed at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - ) on Sunday, March 9th at 9:30 pm. Adapted from Shakespeare's MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, sparring lovers Beatrice and Benedict find themselves in 1953 Little Italy in this reading of a brand new musical set to the quintessential tunes of the Rat Pack era including "Quando, Quando, Quando," "Mambo Italiano," "Buona Sera Signorina" and more. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: PRISCILLA BAGLEY WITH WHEN WILL I BE LOVED?: THE LINDA RONSTADT 'HALL OF FAME' CAMPAIGN 2014
Classically trained cross-over diva, Priscilla Bagley, will be celebrating the many hits and wide variety of musical genres conquered by vocal icon, Linda Ronstadt at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, March 9th at 9:30 pm. Musical director is Christopher Leavy. Song selections will include pop hits That'll Be the Day, You're No Good, Blue Bayou as well as Big Band classics I've Got a Crush On You, What's New and Poor Wandering One from The Pirates of Penzance. Priscilla Bagley has been professionally employed as a leading lady of both opera and musical theatre, her body of work ranging from the title role in Madama Butterfly and Violetta in La Traviata toRona Lisa Peretti in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Mama Morton in Chicago. She starred in two cabarets in the 2011 Orlando Cabaret Festival, and originated the role of Motherin the world premiere of Requiem for a Young Man by Dove Award winning composer, Ronald Owen in 2012. Priscilla was "Steppin' Out with Irving Berlin" at the Winter Park Playhouse to close the year and stepped into her debut of "When Will I Be Loved?:The Linda Ronstadt Hall of Fame Campaign" in 2013. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU: 54 SINGS SIDE SHOW
54 Sings, a new series presented at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551), celebrates some of Broadway's favorite musicals, featuring the hit songs from these groundbreaking shows, performed by some of the best in the biz-sometimes by the very voices for whom they were written! "I Will Never Leave You: 54 Sings Side Show" will be presented on Sunday, March 9th with performances at 7:00 & 9:30 pm celebrating the tunes of Bill Russell and Henry Krieger's brilliant Side Show. Expect belting galore as all of your favorite tunes are revisited, including "Say Goodbye to the Freak Show," "Leave Me Alone" and, of course, "Who Will Love Me as I Am?" Directed by Bill Russell and starring Lauren Kennedy, Norm Lewis, Jeff McCarthy, Hugh Panaro, Alice Ripley, The Skivvies and more! There is a $60 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
NYC:ERIC YVES GARCIA AT BEMELMAN'S BAR
Eric Yves Garcia has been invited back again to perform at BEMELMAN'S BAR at the CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-570-7189) on Sundays in March at 9:00 pm. You're invited to enjoy music, stories and laughs well into the evening as Mr. Garcia burns up the keys, with Ritt Henn on Bass and Tony Romano on Guitar. Eric has several weekly bookings in New York City, specializing in the American Songbook, jazz and standards. Some of the NY spots he has played include: Firebird, Don't Tell Mama, Danny's Skylight Room, Monkey Bar, Boxcar Lounge, The Townhouse and Chez Josephine. There is a $15 cover at the bar, $25 at tables.
NYC: MARK JANAS' SALON: SOUL SEARCHING
SALON - that unique, Multiple Award Winning, Weekly Open Mic Event, created and hosted by Mark Janas continues at ETCETERA ETCETERA(352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141) on Sundays from 7:00 to 10:30 pm (sign-up begins at 6:15 pm). The optional theme on Sunday, March 9th is "Soul-Searching". Co-Host will be MAC Award Nominee Jonathan Whitton.
