TORONTO: THE AULT SISTERS: "TIMELESS" CD RELEASE

The Ault Sisters celebrate the release of their new CD 'Timeless' at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Tuesday, March 11th at 8:00 pm. It may seem strange to call The Ault Sisters veterans, given that Amanda, Alicia and Alanna Ault are, respectively, just 22, 20 and 18. They have left novice status long behind, though, given that they released an acclaimed debut album, Christmas Feelings, back in 2006. They have studied music and performed extensively since then, diligently honing their craft and employing their prodigious vocal skills in a wide range of musical styles, with great distinction. The Ault Sisters have now turned to jazz, a genre in which their signature and sublimely seamless vocal harmonies really shine. The Toronto-based trio got back in the studio with their longtime producer, Greg Kavanagh (BKS, Wendy Lands), and an A-list of local players, to record this keenly-anticipated jazz album – Timeless. Musicians featured on the record include Canadian jazz greats Robi Botos (piano), Ted Quinlan (guitar) John Johnson (saxophone) and William Sperandei (trumpet), alongside the ace rhythm section of bassist George Koller and drummer Ben Riley. There is a $15 cover.

D.C.: FRANK SIRIUS AT BLUES ALLEY

Frank Sirius performs atBLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Tuesday, March 11th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Sirius was one of the lead singers for the famed trend-setting Go-Go band Lissen, penned the "godson of Go-Go", and the motivating factor of many of Lissen's sellout performances all over the east cost. His soulful, heart pounding melodies and his smooth vocal styles can not be denied. This amazing entertainer is soon to be re-discovered as he embarks on a break-out solo career. A combination of sounds from musical geniuses such as Donnie Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, and George Benson, he is undoubtedly the next musical superstar, crossing over R&B/Soul, Pop, and HipHop genres, and giving life to the forgotten acoustic sound. Call for cover/minimum information.
