MORE CABARET TONIGHT IN NEW YORK CITY

NYC: SAMANTHA CARLSON AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Samantha Carlson will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 ) on Sunday, October 13th at 9:30 pm. Music is her passion and her life. She sings the classic standards from the 1920s through today, as well as jazz, big band, show-tunes, country, oldies, classical, opera, and pop ... (English, Italian, Spanish, German, & French), but she identifies herself mainly as a jazz/standards singer. Raised in a musical family, both parents are vocalists and instrumentalists. Their influence was very strong. They always encouraged her passion for music, and to follow her dreams. Her other influences include Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, Nat King Cole, Josh Groban, and Andrea Bocelli. Samantha currently lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, performs with her jazz combo, and with several big bands, locally, and nationally. There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.


NYC: TWO-TIME TONY AWARD-NOMINEE ROBIN DE JESUS WITH PATTI ISSUES

"PATTI ISSUES", the hit solo play written by Ben Rimalower, will continue its hit New York run with Sunday night performances at 9:30 pm at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) from September 8th to October 27th, starring Broadway's Robin De Jesus, star of the film Camp and two-time Tony Award nominee for In the Heights and La Cage Aux Folles (also soon to be starring opposite Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Goldblum in Lincoln Center Theater's Domesticated, opening November 4th.) The piece celebrated its year anniversary at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE and ran through Thursday, August 15th with Rimalower performing. Written by Ben Rimalower and Directed by Aaron Mark. Meantime, Ben will perform "PATTI ISSUES" in Boston, Glasgow, and Berlin in August and September, plus an upcoming South Florida "mini-tour". Ben recently presented the show in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Berkeley, Provincetown, the Fire Island Pines and Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Watertown, CT. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: KEITH POSS WITH "I FEEL LUCKY"

After spending many years in the chorus of several local groups, Keith Poss is making his New York City solo debut at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 ) on Sunday, October 13th at 6:30 pm with his show "I Feel Lucky". Joining him on stage will be accompanist and musical director Lydia Sabosto. The show will feature many of Keith's favorite tunes from various genres, including Pop, the Big Screen, and even Country - each with Keith's own special spin. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

After a sold out run in February, Kim Coles, the hilarious star of hit TV shows Living Single, Frasier and In Living Color, will return to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) with her acclaimed one-woman show OH BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!. Written and performed by Kim Coles and directed by Scotch Ellis Loring, this limited engagement will be presented for five performances only, on Friday & Saturday, October 4th & 5th at 7:30 pm; and Friday through Sunday, October 11th, 12th & 13th at 7:30 pm. OH BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! chronicles the ebb and flow of Kim Coles' showbiz rise with Hollywood-insider stories, multi-media features and even an interpretive dance number! After Fox's groundbreaking hit comedy Living Single got cancelled, Kim realized that nothing compares to the free food, personalized parking space, and sweet perks of showbiz success. As pilot seasons came and went and residual checks all got spent, she had to breakdown in order to break through and find true meaning beyond the glitz and glam of the red carpet. Brandon Cutrell and Ray Fellman return to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 ) on Sunday, October 13th at 10:00 pm for ONE NIGHT ONLY to celebrate their birthdays. This is NOT an open mic night. Featuring performances by: Lisa Asher, Cameron Mitchell Bell, Dayna Grayber, Colleen Harris, Jessica Hendy, Kenny Holcomb, Bootsie LeFaris, Telly Leung, Jesse Luttrell, Liz McCartney, Kevin Meaney, Susie Mosher, Ariel Sinclair, and Daniel Torres. One of Broadway's most exciting new talents, Krystal Joy Brown, will perform at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 ) on Sunday, October 13th at 7:00 pm. She can currently be seen co-starring on Broadway in Big Fish. She will have as her special guest, the dashing Bobby Steggert. This one night only engagement is an eclectic night of soul baring music and storytelling, featuring original works as well as contemporary tunes. There is a $30-$40 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
