NYC: "LORNA'S PINK PARTY" AT BIRDLAND
FEATURED CABARET BENEFIT EVENT

Lorna Luft returns to BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080 - ) in her new show "Lorna's Pink Party" on Mondays, October 14th & 21st at 7:00 pm. Her special guest will be her sister, Liza Minnelli, marking the first time they have performed together in over 20 years! Other special guests include Nick Adams, Liz Callaway, An Hampton Callaway, Jim Caruso, Kelly King, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Marcia Strassman. As with all live entertainment events, cast subject to change without notice. There is a $50-$1000 cover cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum. NYC: JIM CARUSO'S "CAST PARTY" MONDAYS AT BIRDLANDFEATURED OPEN MIC EVENT

Every Monday night at 9:30 pm, Broadway impresario Jim Caruso hosts "Cast Party", a combination open-mic, networking event and party atBIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) during which the biggest stars on Broadway relax on their night off by performing their favorite songs in an informal setting. Cast Party is a mix of music, impromptu performance and cocktail party revelry, where showbiz superstars, stunning jazz talents and cabaret glitterati hit the stage alongside up-and-comers to serve up jaw-dropping music and general razzle-dazzle. It's the ultimate spot to mix and mingle with talented show folk and their fans. There is a $20 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

NYC: MARK RAPP & DEREK LEE BRONSTON: THE SONG PROJECT

Mark Rapp & Derek Lee Bronsto perform at THE BLUE NOTE (131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592 - ) on Monday, October 14th with shows at 8:00 & 10:30 pm. They extend jazz into its own genre with interpretations ranging from AC/DC to Rodgers&Hart. With captivating interchanges between guitar and trumpet, lined with raw vocals, The Song Project explores the art of the song both written and improvised. Celebrated by jazz and non-jazz fans alike, Mark Rapp (trumpet, didgeridoo) & Derek Lee Bronston (guitar, vocals) are without a doubt on to something new and very exciting. Be sure to experience their industry first "applum" - a free download on the iTunes App store. Mark Rapp holds a Masters in Jazz Studies from the University of New Orleans - earning it under the tutelage of Ellis Marsalis and continued to live and play in New Orleans for 5 years. Mark then moved to New York where he played for 9 years. Derek Lee Bronston has 20 years experience as a New York based musician, has 7 records as a leader and co-leader, as well as, appearances as a sideman on many others. He originally came to NYC from Detroit in 1990 and has played with Cecil Taylor, Tom Harrel, Billy Bang, Branford Marsalis, The Hush, Mostley, Jerry Gonzalez and Dave Binney to name a few. There is a $10-$15 cover.

NYC: LES PAUL MONDAY'S FEATURING JOHN WETTON AND THE LES PAUL TRIO

IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB (1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121 - ) presents Les Paul Monday's featuring John Wetton and The Les Paul Trio, on Monday, October 14th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Born in Derby, raised in Bournemouth, John Wetton first cut his musical teeth on church music at his family's piano. He often played the bass parts to help his brother rehearse tunes for services, an experience that led to John's love of the relationship between top line and bass melodies. This is still a major feature of his music today. In his teens, John focused those melodies on the bass guitar and honed his skills by playing and singing with local bands. He also discovered a knack for songwriting with an early bandmate, Richard Palmer-James; a relationship that would continue to flourish through five decades. There is a $35 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: ANTONIO CIACCA SEXTET AT DIZZY'S

The Antonio Ciacca Sextet, with Antonio Ciacca, piano; Jerry Weldon, tenor saxophone; Joe Magnarelli, trumpet; Joe McDonough, trombone; Paul Gill, bass; and Peter Van Nostrand, drums, performs at DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595 - ) on Monday, October 14th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. NYC-based, German-born, Italian pianist Antonio Ciacca brings his bebop and gospel-influenced styles to Dizzy's for a one-night stand, along with a stellar cast of supporting musicians. A longtime sideman and collaborator with greats like Art Farmer, Lee Konitz, James Moody, Dave Liebman, and Benny Golson, Ciacca now demonstrates his considerable skill as a leader. Currently the Business of Jazz professor at The Juilliard School, Ciacca knows the world of professional jazz performance and is well-equipped to show audiences how it's done. There is a $30 cover.
