SUNDAY NIGHT IN NYC: BOSTON'S JOHN MINNOCK MAKES NEW YORK DEBUT
John Minnock, a leading vocalist in Boston's jazz scene comes to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, September 15th at 9:30 pm. John Minnock has been performing weekly at Boston's Encore Lounge for the past two years, in one of the most successful jazz gigs in the Boston area. Performing standards of jazz and blues, with an energy and intensity that this is sure to entertain, John creates an evening that's as fun as it is sophisticated. The music often branches out to R&B, Funk and show standards, as well as spirited jazz improvisation. With a background in classical and a degree in music from Boston University, John calls on all forms to enrich the show. And, the energy reaches into audience interaction and lively comedy, making it an uplifting and fun evening of music. With his trio, all of them accomplished musicians from both Boston and New York, John is as at-ease with the complexities of jazz as he is with showmanship. John has been singing around the Boston area for 10 years, including in the group "Feed the Meter", and performances at Acton Jazz Cafe. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
