CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: BRYAN CARTER - JOE SAYLOR JAZZ BAND DRUM FEST AT DIZZY'S
Bryan Carter and Joe Saylor, both leading players in Dizzy's Late Night Session, join forces to present Drum Fest! atDIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Tuesday, September 10th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. The show is a tribute to great jazz drummers like Elvin Jones, Art Blakey, and Philly Joe Jones. The Bryan Carter-Joe Saylor Jazz Band, also featuring Jerry Weldon, Matt Jodrell, Neil Caine, and Chris Pattishall, will bring the energy and freewheeling spirit of a Late Night Session to the club, right from the start of the evening. Anyone with a penchant for jazz drumming - or, more generally, hard swinging, straight-ahead jazz - would do well to catch this one-night-only celebration of jazz's legacy of drum masters, led by two of the most promising up-and-comers on the scene. There is a $25 cover.
