CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: ROTEM SIVAN DUO AT THE MET
Israeli born jazz guitarist Rotem Sivan will perform on Sunday, September 8th at 9:30 pm at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). He is joined by guitarist Peter Bernstein. Sivan is quickly establishing himself as a new voice in the New York Jazz Scene. His musical palette draws from classical and jazz influences combined with ethnic elements. In his recently recorded album Sivan skillfully fuses these into a new approach to the Jazz Guitar Trio instrumentation. The album was released in June 2013 on Steeple-Chase Records. The talented guitarist is a prize winner of the International Competition of Montreux Jazz Festival, 2009. In the summer of 2010 the Rotem Sivan Group was invited to perform at the renowned Bern Jazz Festival, playing side by side with the McCoy Tyner Quartet. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
