CABARET TONIGHT IN SF: KELLYE GRAY RETURNS TO THE BAY AREA
Tex-Jazz Vocalist Kellye Gray returns to the Bay Area to perform at SF JAZZ (201 Franklin Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-920-5299) on Friday, September 20th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. For her SFJAZZ Center debut, she performs an intimate show in the Joe Henderson Lab to celebrate the release of her new album, And, They Call Us Cowboys: The Texas Music Project, which re-imagines the timeless and diverse music of the Lone Star State through the filter of Gray's jazz sensibility. She is joined on stage by Pamela York (piano), Jake Langley (guitar), Marcus Shelby (bass) and David Flores (drums). With her stunning musicality and warm, enveloping voice, Texas native (and Bay Area resident) Kellye Gray is one of the most accomplished jazz vocalists on the national scene. Over her twenty-year career, Gray's profile has continued to grow by leaps and bounds. She has recorded a half-dozen albums as a leader and logged performances at Lincoln Center, The Spoleto Festival and Yoshi's. Tickets are $25.
