Songwriter Lois Morton brings her acclaimed show back toTHE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - ) on Thursday, September 19th at 7:00 pm. What happens when you drop an old fashioned girl into a high tech world? You get 20th Century Girl: The Lois Morton Songbook! Lois began writing songs in the late sixties and at the suggestion of Pete Seeger had several topical songs published in Broadside Magazine. After a long hiatus Lois returned to songwriting in 1996, and currently focuses on humorous songs of social commentary in Tom Lehrer/Gilbert & Sullivan style. In 20th Century Girl, Lois and a cast of New York Cabaret's finest deal with cell phones, prescriptions, road rage, thrift shops, clutter, patriotism and even a GPS with attitude! The show also includes her MAC Nominated song, "The Diet is Cast." Join Lois, Kim Grogg, Mary Lahti, Georga Osborne and Sidney Myer for a glimpse into the very funny Lois Morton Songbook. Directed by Lennie Watts, Musical Direction by Paul Greenwood. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
