TODAY IN NYC: NIKKI MACCALLUM'S MUSICAL GUIDE TO INTERNET DATING
"Matchmaker, Matchmaker: I'm Willing to Settle", a musical guide to Internet dating with Nikki MacCallum, making her cabaret debut, will be presented at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - ) on Saturday, October 2nd at 4:30 pm; Sunday, October 3rd at 7:00 pm and Monday, November 1st at 7:00 pm. Since graduating cum laude from New York University with a degree in vocal performance, Nikki has been pursuing a career as an actress, continuing her vocal skills study with one of Broadway's top coaches and successful cabaret performers, Marianne Challis, and writing the saga of one young woman's Internet dating experiences. The songs are by Elmer Bernstein and Carolyn Leigh, Trisha Yearwood and Anne Hampton Calloway, Amanda McBroom, Stephen Sondheim, and others. The song selection moves "the true stories" of Internet dating along greatly, complementing Miss MacCallum's original, witty book. Musical direction and arrangements are by Michael Foreman.
