TODAY IN NYC: ALISSA HUNNICUTT IN "THE KID INSIDE" AT DON'T TELL MAMA

TODAY IN NYC: ALISSA HUNNICUTT IN "THE KID INSIDE" AT DON'T TELL MAMA

Alissa Hunnicutt brings her show "The Kid Inside" back to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Thursday, October 7th; Monday, October 11th; and Saturday, October 16th, all shows at 8:00 pm. She is joined by with Z Briggs, Honey Goodenough, Sarah Lafferty, and Chad Williams. Musical director is Steven Katz, and Warren Kelley directs. After a sold-out run earlier this year, Alissa is back with her unique blend of cabaret and puppetry for an evening of songs, patter, puppets and profanity. The show features hand/rod puppetry, toy theater, shadow puppetry, table top puppets, and a marionette, plus a found object puppetry video and an animated music video. But don't let the puppets fool you, this is not a show for kids. The Kid Inside reminds you that who you were is a big part of who you are. That kid in you can be open and vulnerable enough to get really hurt, but is also the eternal optimist who keeps telling you to get up and go on. This sweet and dirty, multi-media show features videos, six styles of puppetry (hand/rod, shadow, toy theater, table top, found object and marionette) and songs that will make you laugh and cry. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
