TODAY IN NYC: KEVIN DOZIER PRESENTS "TAKE ME TO THE WORLD" • TUESDAYS IN OCTOBER
Singer Kevin Dozier will bring his acclaimed cabaret show "TAKE ME TO THE WORLD" toTHE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 - ) on Tuesdays, October 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th at 7:00 pm. The evening, directed by Lennie Watts, includes songs by Maltby and Shire, Jones and Schmidt, Irving Berlin, Jerry Herman, Lerner and Loewe, Stephen Sondheim, Noel Coward, Ervin Drake and others. Kevin debuted "Take Me to the World" at FEINSTEIN'S earlier this year and returns in this extended engagement at the popular theatre-district restaurant and cabaret theatre named for Broadway's Laurie Beechman. Kevin will be joined by Musical Director Alex Rybeck at the piano.Kevin made his critically acclaimed NYC cabaret debut at DON'T TELL MAMA in June, 2008, followed by two successful runs at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (October 2008 and 2009) and FEINSTEIN'S in 2010. He was a 2009 MAC Award nominee for "Best Male Debut Performance" and was named "Male Cabaret Performer of the Year" in the San Francisco Cabaret Competition. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
