The CD Release Party of Susan Winter's 2010 MAC award winning CD, "Love rolls on ... LIVE!" will be held at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, October 15th at 9:30 pm and Friday, October 22nd at 7:00 pm. The CD was this year's winner of the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs, Nancy LaMott Recording of the Year. Rick Jensen, who was also Ms. LaMott's Musical Director, will be at the piano playing his inspired arrangements. Bass duties will be shared by Tom Hubbard on the 15th and Gene Perla on the 22nd. Plus there will be a special guest appearance by Geoff Stoner. Everyone who attends will receive a free copy of "Love rolls on...LIVE! Susan performs soon to be standards by contemporary writers such as Susan Werner, Carroll Coates, Dave Frishberg and Lee Wing. She also sings classics of the great American songbook by Arlen, Bernstein, Gershwin and Berlin. Directed by award winning Lina Koutrakos, Susan provides a fun-filled evening that has a few surprises in its more tender moments, such as when she brings her parents World War II love letters to life. "8-Track Throwback" pays tribute to the singer/songwriters of the 60s and 70s with all new arrangements by Adam West Hemming with the voices of Mick Bleyer, Adam West Hemming, Vanessa Parvin, Sierra Rein and Julie Reyburn. Remaining performance is scheduled for Saturday, October 16th at 6:00 pm. Featuring audience favorites from Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Leonard Cohen and more, "8-Track Throwback" is a re-imagined and joyous celebration of the music that takes you back. Carole J. Bufford returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) with a special encore performance of "intro" on Monday, October 18th at 7:00 pm. In her show, "intro", Carole, a bluesy singer with a penchant for any song that tells a great story, takes a soulful, fresh approach to everything from pop standards to the Great American Songbook. Her cabaret will feature the songs of Bessie Smith, Johnny Cash, Sam Cooke, The Beach Boys, and many others. The show is directed by Lennie Watts with Musical Direction by Nate Buccieri. Recently, Bufford was featured and received rave reviews in Broadway By The Year: Musicals of 1927 and Musicals of 1966 at Town Hall and was singled out by the New York Times at the 20th Annual Cabaret Convention at Jazz at Lincoln Center presented by the Mabel Mercer Foundation. She also enjoyed a run of her critically acclaimed Carole J. Bufford sings Randy Newman in Lennie Watts Under The Covers series.
