NYC: MARIEANN MERINGOLO WITH "CRAZY LOVE" MONTHLY AT THE MET

Marieann Meringolo brings her new show "Crazy Love," to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for a monthly series running through December 19th. Remaining Show dates & times are Thursday, May 1st at 7:00 pm; Sunday, June 8th at 7:00 pm; Saturday. July 19th at 7:00 pm; Friday, August 15th at 7:00 pm; Friday, September 19th at 7:00 pm; Saturday, October 18th at 7:00 pm; Sunday, November 9th at 7:00 pm, and a special holiday show "In the Spirit" on Friday, December 19th at 7:00 pm. Singing from the heart, Meringolo covers an eclectic mix of music from Cole Porter to Sara Bareilles, Michel Legrand, Alan & Marilyn Bergman, Marsha Malamet, and more. In this loveletter to love, Meringolo explores the far reaches of our romantic pursuits, on a road that is as bumpy as it is divine. The show features music director Doyle Newmyer on piano, Boots Maleson on bass, and Brian Woodruff on drums. Eric Michael Gillett is the show's director. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: STEVEN CHERA - SMILE CD RELEASE CELEBRATION

Steven Chera will perform atTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, May 1st at 9:30 pm and Tuesday, May 20th at 7:00 pm. Chera is a singer/ song stylist of traditional pop, jazz, & easy listening. Over his life-long career as a singer he has developed an eclectic range of shows featuring music from the 1930s/ 1940s jazz standards, 1950s rock, to the swinging hits of the 1960s & 70s. Lately Steven has been working on his NEW CD "Smile", which he will introduce at this show. The title song "Smile" is a classic composed by Charlie Chalpin and made famous by the great Nat King Cole. Steven also does Mr. Cole's "Mona Lisa", another all time classic. He will also be performing "All The Way" and "Birth of The Blues" both made famous by Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles's "Georgia on My Mind", and "Hallelujah I Just Love Here So". There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Lillias pulls back the show curtain to tell humorous, poignant, and inspiring stories from both her personal and show business lives that she has never shared before, onstage or off. Edie Beale: Live At Reno Sweeney will be performed at54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday, May 1st at 9:30 pm. "Little Edie" Beale, of Grey Gardens fame, performed a now legendary cabaret act at Reno Sweeney Nightclub in New York City over the New Years week of 1978. With Jeffrey Johnson as Edie Beale, Jefferson Farber as Gerald, and Zack Ford as David. Gerald Duval, Edie's producer during the time of her appearance at Reno Sweeney has re-created the essence of those magical nights using dialogue, songs, and text from the historic event resulting in a not-to-be-missed, intimate evening of theatre. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

Julia Mattison stars as Ms. Manger, an enigmatic Broadway icon, famous for such roles as Trudy the Blind Ghost in I See You, Not Really, But You Know What I Mean (Tony Award winner, Best Musical and Best Actress) and as The Coroner in Whoa Nelly, That's a Lot of Blood (Drama Desk Award winner, Best Set Design).
