NYC: JACK KLEINSINGER'S HIGHLIGHTS IN JAZZ SALUTES GEORGE WEIN
Jack Kleinsinger's Highlights In Jazz, "New York's Longest Running Jazz Concert Series" presents a Salute to George Wein on Thursday, May 9th at 8:00 pm at THE TRIBECA PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (199 Chambers Street, NYC - 212-220-1460 - ). Performers scheduled to appear include Ron Carter, Anat Cohen, Wycliffe Gordon, Jay Leonhart, Kenny Washington, Lew Tabackin plus Guest of Honor: George Wein. George will receive the Highlights In Jazz Annual Award. Every year since 1974 Highlights In Jazz has honored a living jazz musician for their 'matchless musical achievements'. Previous honorees have included Lionel Hampton, Roy Eldridge, Frank Wess, Roy Haynes, Maxine Sullivan, Hank Jones, Dr. Billy Taylor and Sonny Fortune to name a few. Tickets are $45.
