LONDON: WORBEY AND FARRELL AT THE CRAZY COQS
Following last year's total sell-out, Worbey and Farrell - the internationally acclaimed concert pianists with a wicked sense of humour - are back at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Friday & Saturday, April 17th & 18th at 8:00 pm. Their show, FOUR HANDS AND ONE PIANO, includes favourites such as The Carnival of the Animals, Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, their popular dance track of Widor's Toccata and their very own Edinburgh Fringe Piano Concerto. These two incredibly talented pianists have played with the world's leading symphony orchestras, achieved over a million hits on YouTube and entertained all over the globe with their unique blend of sparky comedy and sensational piano playing. They play music of every style - classical, popular and contemporary - all at their piano, which can imitate the tones of a Spanish guitar, resound with their very own Paganini Variations or pulsate with the passions of the masters of jazz. LONDON: PETER HORSFALL QUARTET AT THE PHEASANTRY
One of the most in-demand jazz trumpet players and vocalists in the UK, Peter Horsfall will perform at THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Friday, April 17th at 8:30 pm. Peter is best known on the jazz scene for his trumpet playing with the Kansas Smitty's House Band & his very own group, Basin Street Brawlers. Tonight he launches the Peter Horsfall Quartet to showcase his highly original vocal style, inspired by the singing of Billie Holiday and the tight swinging small-groups of Nat "King" Cole, Art Tatum and Slam Stewart. Expect hip new vocal arrangements of classic melodies, underpinned by an uncompromising swing. Call for cover/minimum information.
