NYC: THIS WEEK AT MARK JANAS' SALON: "SPRING HAS SPRUNG!"

SALON - that unique, Multiple Award Winning, Weekly Open Mic Event, created and hosted by Mark Janas continues at ETCETERA ETCETERA (352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141) on Sundays from 7:00 to 10:30 pm (sign-up begins at 6:15 pm). Salon is an ongoing open entertainment event in which singers, writers and musicians share their talent with each other and audience members. The optional theme for Sunday evening April 12th is "Spring Has Sprung". MAC Award Winner Cynthia Crane. The Salon Spotlight will feature David Ballard. Remember, any material, on or off theme, is always welcome at Salon. There are no reservations; seating is on a first come/ first served basis, with one intermission. There is a $10 cash cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: DARYL GLENN & JO LYNN BURKS SING ROBERT ALTMAN'S "NASHVILLE"

Daryl Glenn & Jo Lynn Burks sing Robert Altman's NASHVILLE at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, April 12th at 9:30 pm. This show is the proud recipient of the New York cabaret "TRIPLE CROWN" (2009 Bistro, MAC and Nitelife Awards). The show features a full, authentic country band and faithfully recreates all of the songs from the soundtrack album of Robert Altman's 1975 cinematic masterpiece, "Nashville" including Keith Carradine's Academy Award winning song, "I'm Easy". Glemm is an award winning performer who has appeared on the stages of New York's finest and most famous cabaret venues including Don't Tell Mama, The Triad, Iridium Jazz Club, The Metropolitan Room and Feinstein's at the Loews Regency Hotel in his own full length productions. He has also appeared as a guest in shows at The Laurie Beechman Theatre at the West Bank Cafe, The Galapagos Arts Center, The Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel and 54 Below. 'NASHVILLE' was Mr. Glenn's NY cabaret debut. Daryl presented a highly regarded tribute to Stephen Sondheim ('Daryl Sings Steve-Songs By Sondheim') at Feinstein's to honor the year of Mr. Sondheim's 80th birthday in January of 2010. Mr. Glenn is currently recording his debut cd which will be released in the fall of 2012. Jo Lynn Burks now wears many hats as a musical director, orchestrator, singer, and pianist. As a keyboard player and singer, Jo Lynn Burks has toured with Gladys Knight, Lead Singers of the TEMPTATIONS, Leslie Gore, Roger Daltrey of The Who, and many lesser known rock and country bands. On Broadway, she originated a principal role in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. Other Broadway credits include Smokey Joe's Cafe, The Full Monty, All Shook Up, The Wedding Singer, The Color Purple, and Hairspray. Jo Lynn's national tours include Fame, Mamma Mia, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, and as a singer/dancer for Fred Waring & The Pennsylvanians. As a singer/pianist, Jo Lynn played a prestigious engagement in New York City at The Carlyle., as well as other notable nighteries such as the Waldorf-Astoria, The Plaza, The Ritz-Carlton, and Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: ANDY, DARLING, LET'S CHAT! AT THE DUPLEX

Singer/ actor Andy Crosten and special guests will take you on a musical journey inspired by artist and muse to discover the truth within all of us at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Aunday, April 12th at 7:00 pm. All artists seek to discover the truth. Upon his return to the stage after a three year hiatus, singing actor Andy Crosten explores his truth, and invites you to join him along the journey. In a musical evening of stories and vignettes, Andy gathers inspiration from both his own life, and the magical world created by Andy Warhol and muse Candy Darling. Blending good and evil, past and present, fantasy and reality, Andy, along with extra special guests, uncovers the truth within all of us. Some favorite roles include Huck Finn in Big River (Cumberland Theatre), Claude in HAIR (The New Embassy Theatre), and Linus in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Helping Hands Productions). B.F.A. NYC: JACKIE BEAT: #NO FILTER AT THE BEECHMAN

Big and bitter drag legend Jackie Beat returns to New York City to claim her title as Evil Queen of Anti-Social Media, with performances at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE(407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Saturday & Sunday, April 11th (7:00 pm) & 12th (7:00 & 9:00 pm) at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 - http://www.westbankcafe.com/ ). After acclaimed writing stints on Fashion Police and Hello Ross on E! as well as opening for Roseanne Barr in Las Vegas, Jackie Beat, the self-professed bastard child of "Weird" Al Yankovic and buxom Bette Midler returns to Times Square with JACKIE BEAT: #NO FILTER. There is a $22 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: LEZLIE HARRISON, HILARY GARDNER AND BRIANNA THOMAS IN "POMPIE'S PLACE"

"Pompie's Place," a unique pop-up blues supper-club is taking up residence at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) in April. Produced by Arthur Pomposello, "Pompie's Place" is an immersive nightclub experience transporting audiences to a mythic blues room of another time and place, in which the food is hot and the music even hotter! The five scheduled performances are Sunday & Monday April 12th & 13th, both at 7:00 pm; Sunday May 10th (Mother's Day) at 1:00 pm; Monday May 11th at 7:00 pm, and Thursday, May 28th at 7:00 pm. "Pompie's Place" stars three of New York's most distinguished blues and jazz singers: Lezlie Harrison, Brianna Thomas and Hilary Gardner. Music director is Ehud Asherie, leading a quartet that includes Ken Peplowski (reeds), Jon-Erik Kellso (trumpet) and Jackie Williams (drums). Featuring a mix of blues of many stripes, from the Delta to Broadway, Chicago and Memphis, "Pompie's Place" is a hybrid of nightclub and theatre, in which audiences are treated not just to a spicy Cajun meal, but to the deep-dish travails of the club's three headliners, and the club's host. Tickets are $65, which includes a three-course Cajun meal.

NYC: PENN STATE ALUMNI: THE GREAT BLUE AND WHITE WAY

Alumni from Penn State University's School of Theatre are working extensively on Broadway and around the country, both on and offstage, in all facets of the industry. Join four of Penn State's prominent performers, Caroline Bowman (Wicked, Kinky Boots), Marcus Paul James (Rent, Motown), Natalie Weiss (Everyday Rapture, YouTube's "Breaking Down the Riffs"), and Alan Wiggins (Lion King, Beautiful), along with other special guests at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) at 7:00 pm, for an evening of songs and stories from State College, PA to the Great White Way. Presented by Mike Karns, the evening is directed by Amy Anders Corcoran with music direction by Roberto Sinha, all of whom are also Penn State Alumni. There is a $30-$65 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: TEAL WICKS & FRIENDS SING HAROLD ARLEN AT 54 BELOW

From the Harlem's Cotton Club to the Golden Age of Hollywood, Harold Arlen's natural ease for jazz and blues gave him a distinct voice in the Great American Songbook. Inspired by their mutual love for the rich and textured strain of an Arlen tune, Broadway leading lady Teal Wicks (Wicked, Jekyll & Hyde) and music director Steven Jamail offer an intimate evening of song exploring the work of their favorite composer at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday, April 12th at 9:30 pm. From his iconic standards to the lesser know gems, audience members can expect classic and re-imagined arrangements of one of America's greatest songwriters. Guest artists Jay Armstrong Johnson, Katie Rose Clarke, Zakiya Young, Katie Thompson, and more lend their voices to what promises to be an incredible night of song. There is a $30-$65 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: CEG AND THE CUTTING ROOM PRESENT SCYNTHIAN

CEG and The Cutting Room present Scynthian and their "Immigrant Road Show" at THE CUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900) on Sunday, April 12th at 7:30 pm. Named after Ukrainian nomads, Scythian plays immigrant rock with thunderous energy, technical prowess, and storytelling songwriting, beckoning crowds into a barn-dance rock concert experience. Celebrating 10 years of getting people dancing all night, Scythian released their new album, Jump at the Sun, last summer, with new songs debuting at album release shows across the country. Scythian's "Immigrant Road Show" consists of Alexander Fedoryka, Josef Crosby, Danylo Fedoryka, Ben-David Warner, and Tim Hepburn and Larissa Fedoryka. There is a $20-$25 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: JOE'S PUB PRESENTS PAYING THE RENT!

Anthony Rapp (RENT, If/Then), Daniel Quadrino (Newsies, Peter Pan: Live!), Dee Roscioli (Wicked), Robin De Jesus (Wicked, In The Heights) and more present a one-night only rock concert benefiting Uncompromising Artistry Productions, a brand new theatre company based in NYC, at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Sunday, April 12th at 7:00 pm. This will be your only chance to see the cast of UAP's RENT stateside before they head to Scotland for a month long engagement as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer. There is a $40 cover.

NYC: SCREAM ALONG WITH BILLY: HIGH CONCEPT AT JOE'S PUB

SCREAM ALONG WITH BILLY returns to JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE(425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Sunday, April 12th at 9:30 pm with an all new show for EASTER. Billy Hough and Susan Goldberg bring their unorthodox theatricality and musical chops to "HIGH CONCEPT," a tribute to the great concept albums from SGT PEPPER'S to THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL. With an impressive roster of special guests including Michael Cunningham, Lili Taylor, Garagedogs, Joe Donohue, and their unabashed and provocative style, HIGH CONCEPT promises to be the biggest show they've ever done so far. NYC: BIRDLAND JAZZ PARTY With NATALIE DOUGLAS - EVERY SUNDAY

Natalie Douglas takes over the reins of the internationally renowned Birdland Jazz Club's "Jazz Party With Natalie Douglas" every Sunday night at 6:00 pm at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) . Joining Douglas will be her band, led by longtime musical director Mark Hartman. "Jazz Party" has most recently been hosted by Grammy-nominated vocalist Jane Monheit. Douglas, the seven-time MAC Award and Backstage Bistro Award Winner, has garnered rave reviews for her unique mix of jazz, blues, standards, pop, folk and country music. This past June, she received the 2014 Margaret Whiting Award onstage at Carnegie Hall from the Mabel Mercer Foundation & My Ideal Music. In September 2014, Natalie's portrait was added to the Birdland Jazz Club Wall of Fame. Her recent performances include concerts across the U.S. (Carnegie Hall, Birdland, Cafe Carlyle, and The Appel Room - formerly The Allen Room - at Lincoln Center) and across three continents (Montenegro, Greece, Corsica, Puerto Vallarta, London, Buenos Aires, Cancun & Germany.) In a Greenwich Village tradition, she also performs an annual New Year's Eve collaboration with Mark Hartman at the Duplex. Her solo recordings include her debut CD, Not That Different - which was nominated for a 2000 MAC Award for Outstanding Recording - and To Nina ... Live At Birdland, a concert recording of her one-woman show, To Nina: A Tribute to Nina Simone. Both CDs, available at iTunes and other outlets, continue to be featured on NPR and Sirius XM Radio. She also appears on Fine and Dandy for PS Classics and Broadway By The Year: 1940 on Bayview Records. Natalie is also an actor and can be seen in the feature film "The Camera's Eye," has appeared on ABC's "Cupid," and in many theatrical productions, including The People vs. Mona, Thalia Follies, theATrainplays (series 5-22) with The Neighborhood Playhouse, Hillside in Hell with 13th Street Rep and was a featured soloist at the York Theatre Company's benefit production of Children Of Eden at Riverside Church.
