Celebrity Impersonator Bonnie Kilroe presents "DIVAS - Vegas Meets Vaudeville" at MARTINI'S ABOVE FOURTH (3940 4th Avenue, San Diego, CA - 619-400-4500) on Thursday, April 16th at 8:00 pm. Her show combinse over 40 songs and more than 20 characters - from standard icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Dolly Parton and Cher, to less iconic though equally well-known stars such as Edith Bunker, Mae West, and Lady Gaga (and just as many costume changes), all performed, voiced, sung, and acted by one of the most talented performers around. Performer and AIDS/LifeCycle rider Daniel Segura leads a moving night of anthemic songs dealing with striving ahead, courage and finding ones power and strength at ROCKWELL: TABLE & STAGE (1714 Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA - 323-669-1550) on Thursday, April 16th at 8:00 pm. As Daniel narrates thru song and story what a week of this life-changing ride is like he will be joined by his powerhouse musical friends to deliver a memorable one-night only benefit concert. You will leave happy you gave to a great organization fighting HIV/AIDS in Southern California and elated by the performances that move. Special Guests include Ashley Argota, Rustin Cole Sailors, Kate Pazakis, Nicci Claspell, Lana McKissack, Jason Powell, Leah Sprecher, DJ Lick, Kyla Williams and Alex Mohajer. LOS ANGELES: "CHAMELEON: THE DAVID FORTIN SHOW"
Well known to Gardeniaphiles through his kick-ass instrumental support of others on trumpet, standup bass, and guitar, David Fortin stands up on vocals himself this time at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444) on Thursday, April 16th at 9:00 pm. Thirty years ago, David, along with the gifted writer and guitarist Bruce Gaims, formed the trio "Spyder Blue" which, with a succession of drummers (currently Todd Szabo for the last three years) has continued to thrive, can be heard throughout the Southland. Mike Farrell joins him on piano, with special guests Larry Davis and Mary Bogue sweetening the pot. Call for cover/minimum information.
SAN FRANCISCO: STEVE TYRELL AT FEINSTEIN'S FOR 2 WEEK ENGAGEMENT
Following a sold-out engagement in March 2014, FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) welcomes back Grammy Award-winning vocalist, Steve Tyrell, for a limited two-week engagement opening on Thursday, April 9th and running Thursdays through Sundays, through April 19th. Showtimes are 8:00 pm on Thursdays & Fridays; and 7:00 pm on Saturdays & Sundays. Tyrell will perform songs from his new highly anticipated album "That Lovin' Feelin'," including "Up on the Roof" and "Groovy Kind of Love," as well some of his other favorites! There is a $70-$85 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.
