Jazz/ cabaret vocalist Mary Foster Conklin performs on Friday nights at MOSCOW57 ON DELANCEY (168 1/2 Delancey Street, NYC - 212-260-5775) at 8:00 pm. on Friday, January 30th the club celebrated its one year anniversary on the corner where Loisaida meets the Williamsburg Bridge. Owned by Ellen Kaye, singer/ pioneer/ force of nature, who nightly hosts the best party in town with a rotating group of artistsecalls it Hobohemia - A Rendezvous of Strangers. NYC: EDDIE SARFATY & FRIENDS AT THE MET
Join Eddie and his special guests, the hysterical Nancy Witter (finalist in Nick at Nite's search for the "Funniest Mom in America") and hilarious newcomer Chris Arruda at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, April 3rd at 7:00 pm for an evening of laughs and free Easter candy (Yum!). Sarfaty is a stand-up comedian who has appeared on Comedy Central's Premium Blend, The Today Show, The Joy Behar Show, Logo's Wisecrack and is a subject of the documentary, Laughing Matters. He is the author of Mental: Funny in the Head, a collection of humorous essays. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Distorted Diznee celebrates its 3rd Anniversary at The Beechman! NYC: SPEAKEASY MODERNE: A MODERN TWIST ON THE ILLICIT SPEAKEASY
Speakeasy Moderne: a Modern Twist on the Illicit Speakeasy will be presented on Friday, April 3rd at 7:00 pm at CUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900). Get swept up in the world of Speakeasy Moderne, where singers enchant, flappers flirt and dancers dazzle. Hosted by "Official Hank" Stampfl, it's an unforgettable evening featuring an intoxicating blend of pop hits set in the style of jazz age Manhattan and vaudeville. A unique cabaret with a touch of burlesque! Chloe Lowery will lead the show with her powerful, enchanting voice. The evening will feature Broadway dancers Kimberly Schafer, Jessica Coffman, Heather Lea Bair, Bronwyn Tarboton and Tommy Scrivens, all who have performed in such shows as "42nd Street", "A Chorus Line" and "Saturday Night Fever". Singer and songwriter Dina Finai comes to us from the amazing Trans Siberian Orchestra. Also taking the stage will be the stunning Burlesque Star Puss N Boots. The Matt Baker trio band will take you back to the world of the speakeasies. With songs ranging from the Tin Pan Alley era to the Golden Age of Broadway to today's pop charts, the show puts a modern twist on the old school, illicit speakeasy. Director and Choreographer: Kimberly Schafer. Cocktail wear is encouraged and audience members are asked to come dressed in their best 1920's attire. NYC: PATTI LUPONE - "THE LADY WITH THE TORCH"
Broadway's Patti LuPone returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) for an extended run that begins on Thursday, April 2nd and extends to Tuesday, April 14th. Patti LuPone's appearances at 54 Below have already achieved the status of legend. The two-time Tony Award winner returns to 54 Below with her critically-acclaimed show The Lady with A Torch. LuPone performs an eclectic collection of torch songs by such composers and lyricists as Arthur Schwartz, Howard Dietz, Jule Styne, Sammy Cahn, Billy Barnes, Harold Arlen, George and Ira Gershwin, and Cole Porter. The show is conceived and directed by Scott Wittman, musical direction by Joseph Thalken, orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick and dialogue by Jeffrey Richman. Show dates and times are Thursday through Saturday, April 2nd through 4th at 7:00 pm; Monday through Saturday, April 6th through 11th at 7:00 pm; Monday & Tuesday, April 13th & 14th at 7:00 pm; with an additional late show on Saturday, April 11th at 9:30 pm. NYC: AFTER MIDNIGHT REUNION CONCERT
54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) presents an After Midnight reunion featuring the After Midnight Orchestra and cast members from the 2014 Tony nominated Broadway Musical, on Friday, April 3rd at 9:30 pm. The show will feature performances from Everett Bradley, Carmen Ruby Floyd, Bahiyah Hibah, Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, Phillip Attmore, Marija Abney, Allysa Shorte, Monique Smith, Bryonha Marie Parham, Erin Moore, Jay Staten, Taeler Cyrus and many special guests. Expect an evening of jazz standards infused with a modern R&B twist, including the songs and sounds of Harold Arlen, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Stevie Wonder, John Legend and more. There is a $35-$85 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

Following a critically acclaimed run at London's Bush Theatre, Olivier nominated actress and writer Cush Jumbo (The River, Julius Caesar, "Getting On") brings her one-woman show 'Josephine And I' to JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555), running through April 5th at 7:00 pm, with an additional matinee show on Saturday, April 5th at 3:00 pm. Born into poverty in the slums of St. Louis, Josephine Baker became one of the most famous and groundbreaking stars of the 20th century. The first African-American performer to rise to international prominence, she was a French Resistance spy and civil rights activist who was married twice by age 16 and served as muse to Pablo Picasso, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway, who called her "the most sensational woman anyone ever saw." Now, nearly forty years after her death, Baker's life inspires a young woman to face up to the sacrifices required to follow one's dreams. Featuring swinging jazz and ragtime rhythms, this theatrical event directed by Tony nominee Phyllida Lloyd (Julius Caesar, Mary Stuart, The Iron Lady, Mamma Mia!) interweaves a modern day story of an ambitious young woman with the fascinating life of the peerless, fearless Josephine Baker. Tickets are $50. There is no food or drink minimum for this show.

Azania in Concert will be performed at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555 - ) on Friday, April 3rd at 9:30 pm. Few people are born with the gift of instantly touching people's hearts with their voice. Azania is one of them. Originally from Sierra Leone, West Africa, this award-winning, multi-cultural artist was born and raised in the U.S. & in Geneva, Switzerland. From the age of 6 she knew that singing was her calling. Azania's captivating voice, powerful energy and positive charisma make her a phenomenal performer and a joy to see on stage. She has performed over 800 concerts around the world, from Europe to Africa, Asia and the U.S. and looks forward to travelling worldwide. Azania has sung at some of the most prestigious venues, including the famous Blue Note Jazz Club and the legendary Apollo in New York City, as well as the Blues Alley in Washington, DC. She has also performed in major music festivals, such as the world-renowned Montreux Jazz festival in Europe and has been invited to perform for 4 Presidents - of Liberia, Sierra Leone, Malawi and former prime minister of the U.K. Tony Blair. In Paris, she won first prize in the French T.V. competition 'Graines de Star' on M6TV. Broadcast to millions of viewers, it was the first French show similar to 'American Idol'. A true chameleon, Azania loves exploring various facets of her voice in different styles of music. During her 12+ years of classical opera voice training, she performed in many different bands of not only soul and funk, but various styles from jazz to disco, electro/house to gospel, reggae to musical theater. In her latest album, RISING, several songs are inspired by the groovy soul and funk era of the 1970's. However Azania's compositions evolve from diverse musical influences. Azania's lyrics are often enriched with uplifting and positive messages. She's currently composing songs for a new album, co-produced by Jeremiah Abiah, to be released in 2015. Azania is also a talented actress, she notably performed in a short film "Grace" playing a Kenyan immigrant who suffered domestic violence. She recently acted in an upcoming documentary film produced by the grandson of the famous African-American icons, Ruby Dee & Ossie Davis, called "Life's Essentials by Ruby Dee". An avid philanthropist, Azania is goodwill ambassador to the All As One Children's Center and orphanage based in her home country, Sierra Leone in West Africa. Founded during the country's civil war, since 1999 they have provided shelter, food, medical care and schooling to over 3,000 of orphaned and destitute children in Sierra Leone. There is a $20 cover.
