LONDON: JIM CARUSO'S CAST PARTY WITH BILLY STRITCH AT THE PIANO

Jim Caruso's Cast Party, Manhattan's "extreme" Open Mic Night makes its London debut at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Friday & Saturday, March 6th & 7th at 8:00 pm, hosted by Jim Caruso with Billy Stritch at the piano. Cast Party is a wildly popular weekly open mic that has brought a sprinkling of Broadway glitz and urbane wit to the legendary Birdland Club in New York City every Monday night for the past eleven years. These two incredibly talented performers storm the stage with an evening of swinging standards, special guests and wry conversation. It's a cool cabaret night-out enlivened by impromptu performers serving up jaw-dropping music and general razzle-dazzle - Cast Party is the ultimate spot to mix and mingle with talented show folk and their fans. The buoyant, sharp and charming Caruso guides the entire affair like a bubbly cruise director, whilst musical genius Billy Stritch holds court at the ivories and the audience is invited to participate in the festivities! Recently, Caruso and Stritch have taken the Party on the road, celebrating talent in cities all over the USA. For the past two years, they have been headlining on Sunday nights at The Carlyle Hotel in New York, where they are constantly in the news when the likes of Liza Minnelli, Bono and Michael Feinstein join them in impromptu performances. Call for cover/minimum information.

LONDON: JOYCE BREACH AT THE PHEASANTRY: 'MOMENTS LIKE THIS'

Award winning singer Joyce Breach, one of the finest interpreters of classic American popular song, performs at THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Wednesday through Saturday, March 4th through 7th at 8:30 pm. The velvet-voiced singer is known for her excellent musicianship and taste, and her sophisticated interpretations of the songs of Gershwin, Rodgers & Hart and Sondheim among others. She is the last of a breed of singers from a less-frantic era, following in the footsteps of Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day and Peggy Lee, but very firmly in her own style. In 2002, 2003, and 2004 she played to sell-out crowds at London's Pizza on the Park where she recorded her first live CD, Live in London, on Audiophile. Call for cover/minimum information.
